I don't mean for my first post here to be a help one, but I need it. I use to play this game the beta and almost two years after. But I had to stop playing, the army took up my time, then I got cancer and went blind. I've been slowly getting better, and I'm finnaly getting able play more action based games. But my knowledge is totaly out of date, I need to know how the different nation play now, so I choose one. I've already been over the raw info on the site, I'm looking for more than that, things turn out different battle than they do on paper/webpage. I would also like to know what nations are over and under used, it would help pick.

Two small questions, how do I zoom in and out? And how do I get the screen to move with my ship? I'm still 100% blind in one eye, I can't make out the key guilde. Also, if you guys see me in game, know I cannot read anything you say. So, I'll say this now, sorry for the crossings in advance.

To zoom out, hit F11 then scroll your mouse wheel. I don't think theres anyway to get your screen to follow your ship.

Welcome back and i wish you a speedy recovery.

Nations-

The really overused nations (i think) are UK and KM, as people always associate range with KM and damage with UK.

If you have a hard time seeing things, then i might suggest that you stay away from driving CV (because planes are so tiny), and if you were to play BB then stay with nation BBs that are small in profile, which is mostly MN, excluding their BB5 and BB6, which are kind of large.

1) First, press f10 to go to options panel and on the right side check the box that says "Anti-Aliasing" Then press f11 to activate the zoom / "3d function" then use your mouse wheel, and if you ever get a zoom bug ( green halo around screen), then try tapping f11 a couple of times or clicking in your mouse wheel (this resets you to default zoom)

2) You can do this but this will make it hard to play BB or other ship that shoots far. Just click your ship a couple of times till it starts moving with your screen. If you dont like this, you can tap the G key to move quickly between your ship and your last hit target, allowing for quick dodging maneuvers.

Good luck and feel free to post here or PM me for any extra help!

Nations

US still a melting pot of BB style. Sodak and guam are ninja ship, penn 43 is great at rushing, NC and colo hold the line.

UK is heavy hitting still, with the best ability to take a beating, come out alive and get back in the action fast. Vanny is now a BB4.

IJN ia still the same old. Yammy got a buff to speedcap and the engine ability needed to cap it. Naggy has the option between spread and armor penetration now that they fixed the 2nd set of 16". Fuso got a range buff. BB5 playstyle is still about blinding and using the speed and salvo damage to quickly deal damage in the opportunity created. AA got a slight range nerf with GA at 27 now.

KM is my baby. Honestly the line is pure fun. But also ask the most of a player ability. H44 range advantage os still dynamic, but it got the 16,5" fixed and their damage is more consistant than the 18". Bissy and o2 got buffed and now dominate the BB3 tier heavily.

MN is the rush nation but a bit broken. Long range AA, small hitbox, good per shell damage. Patch is coming to fix many issue with the nation. Mainly ammo issue

SN is wait for them nation. 2nd in range, high hangtime, crushing firepower, but slow fat and sluggish on the turn ships.

I'd suggest US to you to start back. You'll get a crash course in different ship playstyle and be able to determine your next nation that fits you best. Don't forget to level 1 extra support for the BB6.

Also the G Button helps a lot, no matter if zoomed in or out.
Once you made a test shot at max range you swich to your ship and back to the last impact
everytime you press it.

Thank you for the help, advice and comments. It helps alots. For my nation I ended up with USN, I like the sound of SN and RN, but untill I figure out my BB style I should play with a well rounded nation. It's just a pitty that the dock music is so much better for the SN, I accauly have the english version of that song :P

Rename the cxf files to switch music if you wish. Or rename any MP3 really.

I got Amerika by Rammstein as my USN harbor song lol.

Actually, IIRC you can left click on your ship (or a teammates ship) and your screen will follow that ship even if you use your mouse to view other areas as long as you don't left click anywhere to de-select the ship.

I think this also works on enemy ships while they are scouted, but once your team loses sight of them I'm pretty sure it automatically de-selects the ship for you...

you can also use the [ and ] buttons to zoom in/out after pressing F11. Useful if you're playing on a laptop with no mouse...
