  • How many vets required to have near block shot on SN BB4 and above?

Has anyone done any experiments or testing?

Spread on my elite boosted and 100 vet lvl 110 gunners have really inconsistent spread. Usually I can only get 1 or 2 out of 9 shells to hit on Yamato sized BB in every shot. This is making me very frustrated.

Appreciate if anybody could share some tips or their experience.

If your gunners are already above the ACC cap (110000 + [4706*lvl]), putting on any more vets is not going to help your spread at all. The only solution is to level up your gunners.

Of course, this is assuming you have mounted the right FCS...

The only way to improve your accuracy is to level up the gunners. Converting vets beyond 109 is pointless.

Like I said, my gunners are 110 BVE boosted, but yet the gun spreads are still poor. I just want to find out if it is actually possible to get SN guns to have near block shot like Monty guns. If it is possible, what is the required number of vets.

Would you mind posting the way of computing gunner true ability formula?

All these lazy people... formula is all over the forum:

TA = displayed ability * (4*no. of vets + no. of experts)

To prevent exhaustion, yes, your gunners are already over the ACC cap, that is, IF besides your 100 vets you have a good number of experts AND your crew is at 100% (right-click on RCT button if not).

Most guns, however, will never (near-) block.

Spread on SN guns are really bad if you compare it to other Nation guns at this level range. I am just wondering if it is a design flaw or due to my lack of veterans for my gunners.

You didn't understand any of this "cap" thing, did you? (that you keep talking about puttiing more vets on your gunners)

The bad spread is not a "design flaw", it's design (balance with range, speed, etc.)

I have 11/11 SN gunners and I was shooting blocks by 110. Assuming you have experts, which you should...

SN can have amazing spread. Please don't say SN has terrible spread when you don't seem to know how accuracy caps and vets even work.  Seriously, if you have EBVE gunners at 110, it is impossible to have that bad of a spread without having your ship set up wrong. If you're using the 110 guns that will be part of the reason why you aren't shooting tight shots. Use the lvl100s and the right manual FCS and you can't possibly be having a problems at that point. At least not to the scope of "1-2 shells land on a BB" per shot...

hostly, I do not know how your gunners get to shoot near block shots at lvl 110. My gunners are EVBE, I use both SN BB5 and SN BB4, none of the guns I used could give me near block spread, be it lvl91 16*3, lvl100 16*3 or lvl110 16*4. And I have nearly 10 years of Navyfield experience to know how to setup my ship with the right FCS and right crew.

It just feels odd as similar or even worse gunners I had were able to give me much better gun spread on UK and US ships that I used to play before. I guess this is just part of the reason why SN is the least played nation on the live servers today.

Washu

SN guns at higher level are just frustratingly inconsistent - read terrible spread 9 times out of ten.

Needs to be somewhat addressed imo, but then again so does the entire damn nation.

Slowest speed

Slowest turning force

Slowest reload

Lowish per shell damage

Bad spread

High gun angles / Hang time / Pinpoint shots needed - for spread to still f you over

I honestly hate this nation with a passion, shame its the only nation i have at high level right now.
