  • Is colo worth the wait? if so, then why

I'm in me guam at lvl 63 and I'm thinking "there is no way in hell I can wait that long without a real good reason".
So why exactly is the colo worth it? is there some comparision I could use?
I just discovered the 16" duels (due to,ummm.... line choices, I am in posesion of 2 lvl 73 heavy rld gunners with over 160 experts and 109 vets)

also, the pre-remodle NM is still a bb1. the first set of trip 14s (Ls) are pretty awesome so yes they're good if you can get in range.

the 2nd set of 14s will get your more range (the ones you should use on the remodled NM). but the spread may not be very pretty.

good to know you're enjoying the us BB1s. they're awesome

Yes they are, just like all the other USN1s.
I still can't understand why people skip them, they are wonderful ships and teach you the quirks of that ship type

colo is way better than new mexico. it has more gun space but sadly there is no remodel. if u cant wait i suggest you get a sevy to ease the grind. there is an event where you can get a premium sub for free for 30 days so that will make leveling much fast. u also get 16" duals which are better the 14" trips

Looks wise, you're getting a much much more beautiful ship with the Colorado.
Can't speak for others, but driving a pretty ship is much more enjoyable to me than driving an ugly one.

It's like making love to women. If the girl is pretty, it just makes it all the more satisfying, as opposed to doing it with a 200-pound walking barrel.

I grinded from Guam to Colo, and it was bloody worth it.

Though it doesn't excel in any one area, It's the ultimate hit box + speed + damage balance package.
In addition, 16" AP's own any AW's quite nicely, great DPS for bb2, and also has good AA platform.

And it's definately better than at-level Sodak.

well... if your choice was NM i can say that u have done it well and bad...

well in this BB1 Stage... BC Alaska / Guam is just a shitty boat and needs a remake from NF Staff.... NM, as any premodel US BB1 its great for a BB1, has good speed, good turning power and a lotta firepower for BB1 with those 12 shells of 14'

but you have done Bad for the future... as cold as i can say... u just have skipped the best BB2 in the game

duals 16 MK2 L have little bit better range than 14MK 7 L... and can punch way more damage...
you maybe will not notice against small ships, but when it comes to BB3 to 5 the 14 inch Mk7 can't do the damage you need, UK BB4 and 5 are the worst thing you can encounter with those 14 inches... you will be consider your boat as crap. and when i mean more damage, im not just comparing 1 against 1 shell damage, im talking all the 12 14' against the 8 16'
Besides 16 inch have better spread, they are just a better set in all the ways
i played with Colorado and Tennese remod, at the same time, on the first battles i played tenn with 14mk7 and i really noticed the diference, after a week i purchased 16' for tenny and it was a relief. too bad with NM you will not have that chance. i have to say that Colorado its not as fast as NM and Penny, but its a fast ship, now with my lvl 70 base 12 BVE supports i can go at 39 knots OH with 120 bulge (36 for the tenn). I KNOW... NOT AS FAST AS NM AND PENNY but good enough

Triple 16 inch for colorado its just a "fun set"if you want to grind Colorado till SoDak you need to use the best gun for the ship (i mean 16 duals) those 16 Mk3 D just dont have the range or enough ammo to really enjoy it (if you want a Miny-Monty do a prem invite and get a Maryland, who is no more than a boosted Colorado)

Thank you all for all your advice, it was very...helpful
anyway, I got a BO reset a few weeks ago and promptly forgot it, and until I was looking through my items I didn't know I had it.

After switching to the colo, my first thought was just how right they are about the ships looks. it LOOKS awesome, and it performs even better.
My only beef with it is that I miss the pure number of shells I had with the NM, but I can always switch out now.

I'm really glad I spent the time with the NM, as it ment I could learn and be ignored by most everyone.

Again, thank you for the advice

And, I looked into this "invite" thing and discovered you only get anything if the invitee buys prem, and I can't think of anyone who would buy it

i disagree, with CA Baltimore you can lvl your sailors from lvl 44 to lvl 58 (maybe 60) then i reccom skip the BC Alaska and go straight for BC Guam where you can lvl your sailors from lvl 58 to 66, that's just 8 lvls of BC suckinnes, if you rotate your crew then your BO will be at lvl 70 (maybe more) when your entire crew reach lvl 66... if you are desperate to get rid of BC Guam you should wait for your BO to reach lvl 70 and then put on your colorado triples Mk 10 (it will perform better than premod even underpowered) and when your Gunners reach lvl 68 go for dual 16 Mk2...

if you get BB New Mexico your BC Sucktime will be reduced, as you will leave CA Baltimore at lvl 58 (your BO will be at 60+ when your crew reach that lvl) again, skip BC Alaska and just have to be in Guam a few lvls, just the lvls needed for your BO to reach BB New Mexico, but the breach you saved will be from less than 5 lvls from the 60's... not quite as hard in fact, and the gain you have later on its that your BB3 SoDak will not shoot well until your gunners get to about lvl 90, so you will be playing BB2 untill your entire crew get to lvl 75 up to 79, in order to give time to your gunners to shoot fine in 16 triples Mk3 BB3 guns.

Trust me, those lvls you suffer in BC Guam will pay off when you are from lvl 70 to 75 and your New Mexico guns suffer from underpower against High tier BB's, While your 16 duals from Colo will be performing good enough for a BB2

you are aware you are suggesting to put BB1 gun on a BB2? mk10 have guam range, and you sacrificed the Guam speed, + the game class you as a BB2 regardless.

Stay in guam, especially since it gets better after lvl 65 or so.

All I can see now is people ranting about "BC Suckiness"

The guam doesn't suck. Its just a majority of players play it wrong when they start off.

Playing the Sodak and other rush Oriented play-style ships teaches you how to play the guam more correctly. The gun and run playstyle fits her well. Wait for a time where the enemy is distracted facing other ships or when they are blind, rush in get 1-3 salvos off (Weaving in and out of your own range during this stage) then hightailing it out of there, rinse and repeat.

Alaska on the other hand....Is just a fat cruiser.
