  • Torp Exp (Subs) Nerfed STILL !!!

Hi all

you know this is realy frustrating i get 95k attack sink 1Sub  3 BB's 1 CV and wound another CV in my sub before i run out of torps  and i survive  to the end of the game  and i only get 12k  exp  I'n my tier 4 KM sub ,

no i didnt hit my team mates just to cover that first off.
the GB 2;s have been bugged with low torp exp since they were put out !!

GB 1's still give good exp but no one plays them anymore so no way to go get good exp in there

is this ever gona get fixed ??? i've heard that torp bombers have the same problem so its prolly not the subs but the torpeedo's that are bugged,

plz NF fix this i realy enjoy running my sub but not even gona take it to game anymore till its fixed which is a shame because id prolly spend more money on vetting my crew up if the exp wasnt nerfed

so here's the thing fix it i spend more money on sub crew dont fix it i dont spend more money on it.

P.S. a BB would have gotten 35-50k exp for that kind of performance, they got there hedges and depth charges now i want my exp back !!!

They removed earned XP and replaced it with shared XP. So now Kita, TB and Subs get no bonus for doing attacks.

Again for the slower ppl among us, torp xp is indeed shared xp, but ONLY in Gretard Battle 2.

Play a GB1 and torpedo users will get personal xp again.

yes this is why i dont play my sub often anymore i have UK SS4 all of them are 10 lvls within the ships lvl i got 82k attack and got 12k exp....i only take it out for fun most of the time now and when SS5 6 etc come out i dont wanna grind getting maby 5 to 12k exp a game

Since we are talking about the XP from using torpedo's and not the ship class, I would offer my agreement
because in addition to Subs, Kita's that take a big hit from this it effects all HH users too as the game
considers them same as a torp.
The creates a unusual situation where the main ASW weapon will get you very limited XP.

Many of you have seen me in my ASW Kita and a really great game I get 12K xp, load as Torps and 13K
Load as AA and 25K even if I only shoot down a few planes.

Now yes my crew is way over level but that should not matter if the basis of xp was equal.

So I agree the XP needs to be tweaked to allow for reasonable xp gain for specialized ships

ty everyone for a good conversation on this topic

just did a little test my self for the lvl and yeah lvl dont matter put a set of around 66 torpers on my sub and the differance of the exp gained was only 1k so the 86's 23k and 66's got 22k exp

and i have had torp bombers and kita also sold them all because it simply wasnt worth playing them anymore as for the subs i had every nation at tier 4 at one time and also sold those and only kept my KM because i have the most fun in it

but i still dont run it that much anymore

once again thanks to all who discussed this without screaming and shouting and all the flame :)

In a Kita you can single handedly kill a BB6 (yes some of them ARE that dumb) but still only get the same as killing 1 DD.

As for TB, well that was THE reason to go TB in CV. Now it is the same XP in virtually every game, win at one level, loose at another, game after game. Yes fighter shoot down helps but most CV players get the same average shoot down per game.

But with all the shouting about SS, it was the EASY way out to limit subs, limiting them to shared XP as well, where they should have balanced them by making sinking a sub profitable.

So it is unlikely that XP will change because the Sub haters will bleat on about a buff to over powered subs even if something is done to keep them in check whilst also not increasing their effectiveness.




yes i agree totally ty for the post, got to say a lot of the screaming about subs was prolly partially my fault
considering i used to get between 100k-160k attack per game lol
(dont believe me ask the old 7th members they can verify :) )

Yes I agree the XP for any ship using torpedo's is nerfed. Even in a CV if you use torpedo's your XP is nerfed. This includes the following ships nerfed for torpedo use:

Kita's
SS's
DD's/CL's/CA's with torps
CVs with torpedo planes

This makes playing a ship with those items pointless to level after around level 80ish due to the xp loss for over 9 levels and the additional nerfing.

I feel a rework is in order on GB2.

i've gotten over 150k attack in my sub with only 15k xp, km ss4

same time back in gb1 with ss3 before ss4 came out, same kind of attack or less I got in the 30k xp- only reason my sub bo is 96, well i did bo reset he is now a bb but thats besides the point

i found if i use my flak guns on an unsuspecting cv i can achieve over 20k xp im guessing its due to the guns and not the 30 torps i used up.


ugh perfect example played last night im in ss3 ijn low lvl crew just got the ship. i lucked out took out an l2, ad,h39 and some small ship, basically the entire north team. i died. we won, and i only got 8-11k depending on sailors want to make me tear up. i did so well.

Basically they nerfed IJN with that patch. Everyone goes running around saying IJN has the best torpedos. Well what good are torpedos if the experience you earn is zilch.

There use to be a time when the Kitakami and Simakaze were fun. But then in their infinite wisdom they nerfed the torpedos.

But back to the original topic, yes I agree I think sub players should get more experience and this should be fixed.

Totally AGREE.
I wish it will be fixed ASAP.

No wonder why I get such a poor exp for a big attack.
I thought it was only my problem,,,
