  • Give ability to trade event drops for other items...

I keep winning Ship Tree Resets, which I'll never use, as I plan my crews (and have too many now).  I also keep winning HQ expansions that I do not need.

It would be awesome to be able to trade event drops for olives (or other items), so I could get stuff I could actually use.

I still have Ship Tree Resets from events months ago.  Please let me do something useful with them!?!??!

That said:

"B.O Resets: A lot of us have too many."
Your judging on a small sample, I have seen forums flooded every event saying "I need a BO reset but all I keep getting is XXX", see it in the game as well. Personally I still have a couple and no use for them.

"HQ Expansion: Honestly i can understand that people DO need them. But the drop rate on these are too high."
Falls under the same category as the BO Resets.

"Yes I would. This is the way stores in RL build compensating relationships with thier customers.I don't purchase from establishments unless they offer at the least an "in store credit for returned itmes" "

Purchase is the key word in this statement. The drops are free items, given at no cost (save your time) not something purchased. Even many raffles or drawings that give away prizes will have several different prizes. If you draw one prize do you expect them to give you one of the other ones that you'd rather have, because someone else got it?

Outside of Mines, I think many peoples rants more involve jealousy that others have gotten what they'd like whereas they've receieved a different prize.

but this isnt a raffel blaze, this is SDE giving gifts for time of service to the community, meaning thanks for your support and putting up with us for 6 yrs, here are some gifts you will enjoy ( key word here enjoy ) I dont see how trading these gifts would hurt SDE in any way and letting ppl exchange amoung themselfs for something they will ENJOY

Beggars can't be choosers

you want olives? buy them. Go ahead and slap SDE in the face for doing you guys something nice

Do you ask to buy a TV with your food stamps too?

SDE is a business. To stay afloat they need to make profit. So their event is there to give you something, but not cut their sales to a point like the coin xmas event did 2 years ago.

What do you think SDE sells the most? 1 Bo reset or 10 xpert pack?

I pretty much never use BO resets due to my dual BO leveling method. I bought lots of xperts pack ove the years however.

I wish there was a exchange like someone stated before or make these items tradeable. I don't see the point of owning 5 pages of HQ and 2 BO reset ill never use or these 1520 smoke or 6200 hedges or 7000 naval mines....

Look, not everyone playing here is on food stamps like you (apparently). I buy tons of stuff (like my entire prem elite BB and SS crews for SN, 100's of vet and 1000's of expert packs, 10's of 1000's of hedgehogs, etc., etc., etc.).

This isn't gonna make me buy less. I'm not looking for free handouts. When I get an event drop as an incentive to use more prem stuff, it would be much more effective if it was something I could actually use.

Sorry, I don't see any harm to the business model in making people happier without giving anything away that isn't already.

Look, I didn't even go into the 100 mines I get every 10th game, when I already own 23,680 of them (most actually purchased, when I thought I'd use more...).

I'd even love to trade in 20,000 mines I bought for hedgehogs. SDE doesn't lose money in these transactions (I'd even take a hit of 10-20% for the ability)...and they get happier customers. Do you guys even understand the basics of business?

Pretty bold statement to make.

As for the people stating no money lost, a term people might want to look up is "Opportunity Cost". For those that have had even a basic economics course (or even anyone whose thought about a purchase) its a rather pertinent topic. Particularly for the people who have already (or will start or continue) to buy items, by trading the items they are losing money on those items that you do not receive but still want/need and will purchase later.

For those talking about being happy customers, how many on here have whined, moaned and complained about this game (myself included) yet continue to play (and many I assume still pay).

Contrary to popular belief most companies are not out there to keep us happy. People start businesses to make money, happy customers is a bonus but not a requirement (outside of some service businesses, and commodity businesses).

Fair point, except that the opportunity cost, even calculated at odds of buying versus cost, can be brought further into alignment by the discount for trading. So is the opportunity cost of giving me $16 or $18 worth of hedgehogs in exchange for $20 worth of BO Reset higher? Especially given that if I DID want the BO Reset, I wouldn't need another, whereas I go through those hedgehogs in a month, easy...and then buy more (especially when I get used to having them).

I'm sorry, but any business (except an addictive game) that doesn't think about customer happiness is too short sighted to survive and certainly won't thrive as much as if they did pay attention to what their customers want. All the greedy businesses out there doing it otherwise (and yes, there are far too many of them) should pay attention to that. Somebody will eventually find a way to take that business away by offering something better.
