Curiously I took crew death twice from shells 6' or smaller.  One was a CL and one was NDD.  Anyone else?

Bulkhead protects your engine so you can OH after taking more damage.

Armour means jacksquat when it's a critical shots that kill your crew.
And critical doesn't necessarily means killing crew, it's a random in a random feature.

Determining whether or not armor provides protection from crew death would require a very large sampling. I for one don't believe it provides any benefit, but If armor gives you peace of mind.. Jus do it.

A seaman does a nice job reducing crew death.

You've mixed up your sailors, that's the Medics job.

Maybe some armor? not seeing anything unusual in deaths

Armor does not protect you from crew death. Please do not spread false rumors as a TNF member.

Sorry to disagree
I have asked and have been told by GM's that a ship without any armor does have a greater chance of
having crew deaths vrs a shp that has armor.

So, Yes when asked I respond that 3-5 Bulkhead, .5 belt seems to make a big difference in reducing
crew death.

GM's have been proved wrong 100s of times about game info. Proof is better then a "he said she said" statement.

I can safely say that what you say is rumor even if it come from a GM.. Who probably asked a player about it lol...

The answer is simple, faster reload/more hits means more chance of crew death. That's why H39 seems to get crits more often than other BB4. I stay well away from 6'' or 5'' shell spamming high level CL/PCA.

Seaman does perform medic function, just to a lesser extent

ijn ships can not hold armor like the uk or km ships can when getting higher .5 belt and 23 buldge puts us down to 34 knots on over burn which is pointless. plus the ijn armor means nothing since it can be easily broken by small shells. that's a thought.
