Holdmybeer

So i'm starting an all elite MN crew. As it stand right now I have the following sailors.

2x Acc Gunners
2x Rld Gunners
6x Engies.
4x Repairs.
1x Elite Fighter for a scout.

Is this a good set-up for late game MN play?

Also, what can I expect from CL/CA game play, will the spread always be horrid?

My acc's are my mains right now, as I will run my RLD's on a second BO to level all the supports So they aren't far behind the gunners/Bo after blitzing.

My gunners are level 41, with full experts boosted, and 120 vets, and the spread is still insanely shot-gunish. The supports are fully bve'd right now at level 24-25.

I just hope the CL/CA gameplay get's better.

I am working my way through the French line as well. Have made it to BB4 so far.  One item not mentioned so far is the availability of remodels for your bb1s.  The Lorraine (level 71) is the best bb1 in GB I have used so far, (working on my 5th line).  I was able to come away with 50k to 100k attack in GB with regularity.  It has good range, shoots fast, and a decent spread with higher level gunners.  Your gunners will have little problem with all the vets and experts.  It is also a small target and with your engies up a few levels can make 37kts or possibly better.  I used Lorraine to level my 2nd BO and crew to bb4 level and skipped Strass.  Dont miss out on Lyon and Normandy though.  Both are a lot of fun.

On item on your crew selection.  I picked two sets of reload gunners.  One for R slot and the other for T slot AA.  The French line has an impressive AA battery and the reload helps with that.  In the end both of your gunners sets will cap anyway so its all a matter of timeing.

Enjoy the Game

Good to see ur progress mr beer!

While the Courbet might be the best for blitz, the Bretagne truly is a wicked bb1 for GB.

So far, it is by far the best bb1 I used in GB. I'm curious as to how you will like the BB2's.

I personally didn't like the Lyon, cause you can't outrun anything, and even though it has many guns, the spread is awful. Normandie on the other hand, truly is epic fun due to its size :D

Is it worth to buy SS5 Surcouf, or it's better to wait untill SS5.5 L' Aurorie?

Surcouf is one of my favourite subs (I have 5.5 IJN, KM, MN and RM). Surcouf has a double cannons of 8" with 800 of HE per ammo and CA range, 5 supports slots, could use scouts (amazing on HA for decoy rooms), and 6 frontal torps and 2 rear, Is very fun attack an alone cvs or crippled BB with the guns ;). I recommend powerlevel the bo until l'aurore and play for the lolz with the surcouf, late SS requiere lvl 120 engineers with 150 vets and many experts to be fun.
