As you can imagine it was not intended to introduce the possibility for EBB guns to be fitted to non-EBB ships.  It will patched out as soon as it can be, along with some other fixes including the removal of changing the starting direction.  In the interim it would be impracticable to police the use of EBB guns on other ships and this applies to fleet wars, fleet battles, HAs etc. Consequently, we will not attempt to prevent the use of EBB guns on other ships until the patch is in place.  I will try and clarify what could happen if you have EBB guns fitted on a non-EBB when the correction patch is put in place,
but personally I would recommend they are removed before any future patch just in case.

As for the direction changing, I would appeal to your mature side not to spin rooms or to start rooms with ships facing anything more than 45 degrees from the straight towards the enemy position.
If your immature side takes over and we receive complaints in the normal manner or a member of TeamNF sees it and considers it disruptive, then do not be surprised if your immature side receives some corrective action.

Please highlight this to fleet mates and others to reduce the temptation.  Once again these are a couple of glitches that got through the system.   We are aware of a couple of others, like the long room title display etc and we apologise for allowing these to creep in to this patch.
We are working with the Developers to get them put right asap and appreciate your patience in the meantime.

 We also welcome other reports of bugs, but when you do a screenshot and full description really helps.

Use your mature side and you wont have a problem. But no they wont interpret it that way.

I think it's pretty bad form to tell people that it's specifically 'immature' to change ship positions. How is that more 'immature' than playing a video game involving little ships? Are there now official, universal rankings for 'maturity' that I wasn't aware of? If you don't want people changing ship direction, don't include it in the game in the first place. But insulting those who do it seems pretty immature to me.

Had you used your "mature" side in the first place, you and I wouldn't have a problem.


I know of at least 4 TNF Members that will.

All bickering aside, I think the EBB gun screwup is a good thing.
Allows for more gun/ ship combos and more diversity in the game.
Even the Asama, probably the worst PCA in the game, is fairly useful now.
Maybe Vick you can let SDE keep it as is for a while, just to see how it works out?

Quel - it is not supposed to be there. It was removed because people abused it in an immature way. The last patch was the one that combined the various franchise game engines in to one set of code and this got back in. It will be taken out again soon. In the meantime I am trying to appeal to people to acknowledge that it can be disruptive to spin the room or start the room with ships facing the wrong way. As such I am asking people to be mature and not abuse this temporary return of the facility. No offence was intended.

Is it possible to ask SDE to keep ship spinning, but for GB, to have teams always start facing a pre-defined way?

As you know Lj the changeable direction was to cater for more than 2 teams in one room and the flagship could decide which other team to attack first. The changeable direction should really have been removed when we limited the rooms to two teams, but it was left for a while and later removed when it became apparent that some players were causing deliberate mischief with it. If we ever went back to more than two teams in a specific room type then perhaps that is when we look at how it could be in some rooms but not others. In the meantime I do not think it would make it up the priority list to be considered, but I will mention it.

Of course it isn't a priority, I agree, but it would be nice to keep something that the community loves (without the undesired side effect in GB's; Its fine in fleet battles!)

It would also be nice to have a room with more than one team, but with the map size and North/south mechanics wise, i'm not sure if it would work.

Im still trying to figure out how it is "disruptive".

Never did understand getting banned for it, even BEFORE you guys took it out. Do people not know how to turn their ship around?
