China will never have the navy strength of the US. They are 30+ years behind on naval development and naval tactics. The only thing this ship is useful for is target practice and intimidating the people of Taiwan and other SE asian countries.

It is basically a waste of money.

Remember the days when the UK was the biggest naval power in the world?
Yeah... Things change, man.

Is everyone in here a little bit retarded?

This small CV is meant to be used locally. Locally against Tawain & Japan. It can't go up against a US CV at all.

As for the US Debt 'crisis', why not see who really owns the debt first?

China - $1,149.60

Japan - $1,117.10

Caribbean Banking Centres/United Kingdom $246.20 + $140.90 = $387.10

Oil Exporters - $262.30

Brazil - $253.00

Taiwan -$196.10

Switzerland -
$190.10

Russia - $154.30

Belgium -
$144.20

Stop crying 'big bad wolf' at China when Japan has held a HUGE amount of US Debt for the past few years and this year alone it's been steadily increasing. Do you know who the largest holder of US Debt is though? The US.

Good luck launching any sort of invasion if your navy can't get a few miles out =)

i wouldnt be so sure of that :D coupled with the fact china's new  missile is designed to shoot into the stratosphere and stike a ship at up to 2000 miles away, US defence experts say its fire arc is far to high to defend properly and leaves US carriers weak against an attack by one. Washington were also alarmed when a test fire shows it blowing satallites out the sky/space with pinpoint accuracy, These could of easily been a US military satallite or other important ones if they wanted too. In other words china have watched US ships patrol off there coasts for decades and could do zero about it,

Now they are basically saying " BACK OFF YOUR NOT THE ONLY NATION WITH TECHNOLOGY"  lol

As for invasion, Na they are just protecting against it :D  who could blame them.

People act like those other countries will roll in and just claim our land because we owe them a large sum of money, as if they are a bank that can go and seize someone's car or house. For one, our Government would never do that, and two, even if they did then a very large portion of people would resist it with every ounce of strength that they have, we have a huge weapons surplus as well as a surplus of ammunition in the United States. I would like to see them face against Southern states or even go into Chicago with how many people are armed to the teeth.

It would absolutely never come down to a foreign debt holder 'invading' the US because of oustanding debt.

As for China's Aircraft Carrier, what you should be more concerned about is the fact that it's local buddy India also has a CV and both have plans to build supercarriers. This will be the hotspot of the future as both are nuclear, both have over a billion population and can easily throw hundreds of thousands of soldiers into battle.

China wouldn't be able to reach US shores unless they sneaked in in containers and overtook your ports le Earth in Conflict style.

They are far from building a supercarrier, they just bought one from another country and it isn't even fully operational yet, and it isn't even close to a supercarrier, it's more for local use. Also, not all 1 billion of their citizens will go fight, and the last time a country used massive waves of soldiers to overwhelm the enemy was in WW2 with Russia and Germany, and that only worked because they outnumbered Germany 10 to 1, Russia lost millions of soldiers in the process as well, and the US has more soldiers than Germany had at that time, we also have better weapons and many more allies. Also, coming in container crates just isn't practical because if we see giant shipping crates being dropped out of Chinese planes, we can just blow the crates to hell before they even touch the ground, or just shoot down the Chinese planes.
