It's getting really annoying, retreating when you are losing. So here is one way to stop people from keep doing it. It consists of 2 modifications:

1. increase the time you have after going out of border before your ship retreats. This does 2 things, one, if you go out of bounds accidentally, it gives you more time to move back into play. two, if you want to retreat at end of battle, it gives other team more time to sink you.

2. if you do retreat by going out of bounds, for whatever reason, you get a penalty. It could be EXP reduction, or simply have your ship count as sunk and you have to pay repair cost. This takes away the incentive to retreat since you have to pay repair cost anyway.

I thought you had quit the game, Quenirland?

Some of the last posters have been pushing this thread into popcorn territory. :D

I have zero sympathy for axyarthur's suggestion.

Back in the day before the Italian Fleet was introduced, I had played Navyfield for about a year or two; and, I stopped played shortly after the Italian Fleet was available to all Players.

During that time period I was playing with SS1s & CL1s & CV1s & HMS Dreadnought as my only BB; and, my BB BO had pathetic statistics.

The thing was, I rarely ever got a chance to attack bigger ships. My ships would be sunk before they would get into attack range of the enemy ships.

And on those extremely rare occasions when I was able to make a Kill Attack, or a Devestating Attack, against a BB4/5/6 or a CA or a CV, my Computer System experienced Lag at the time I made my Attack.

One of 2 things happened due to this "Out Of The Blue" Lag...(1) I was booted from the Battle and from NavyField; or , (2) I returned to the Battle with Temporary Lag Effects.

When I was booted from the Battle, I would get "You Lost" Message.

When I was Returned To Game, my Attack Misfires (Delayed Timing from my Intentional Timing; and/or, Wrong Direction from my Aimed Direction). Thus, my Kill Attack, or Devestating Attack, resulted in a Total Miss.

THEN, the Enemy Forces makes their Retaliatory Attacks with perfect accuracy because my Ship has shifted from where it used to be (thus I am disorientated; and, making bad overcorrecting maneuvers) and the enemy ships are closer to my Ship from the time I got the "Out Of The Blue" Lag.

?Can you say "Hacking"?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Sorry; but, absolutely zero sympathy from me.

The "Out-Of-The-Blue" Lag was a Real Issue for me.

However, it was also true that I didn't keep my Sailors fully stocked of Recruits; and, I didn't use my Expert & Veteran Items either.

So...I was already having Ship Control & Firing Issues because of my bad Sailor Management.

We've told you countless times, ship control has nothing to do with your sailors - it's you.  You can fault your reload and spread on your sailors but the rest is your doing.  It seems like you have a lot of lag or your PC can't handle NF.
