  • Smoke Getting Ridiculous

Just saying it's REALLY annoying when EVERY SINGLE SHIP spams smoke for their bbs so EVERY SINGLE bb you fight is nothing but a cloud of smoke CONSTANTLY. How come every event there are so many smoke drops? Lower it maybe I mean it's stupid to think that everyone has 200+ smokebombs just sitting there to use at EVERY opportunity. Jesus... can't even play a gb anymore since I can't even see what I'm shooting EVER

Was always that way for GB's. As in ships show on minimap. I've been using that bug for a long time to kill people hiding in smokes(is how I usually kill SS in smokes). In HA on the other hand, you indeed never could see ships hiding in the smoke using the minimap.

In EU it was also this way, but people whined and now you can't see people on the minimap in smoke cloud nor in GB's, nor in HA's.

From a player standpoint I dont see what the big issue is. Smoke is a valid item and has
been for quite some time. Just because there is more out there does not make it bad.

I learned how to track ships going into smoke and adjust fire and still get kills and get
killed in smoke. with or without the minimap.

Some may overuse it, oh well and the Moltke/Mandel TW smoke rush is a funny thing
to see but its not only legal its smart. Remember the object is to win and Kill the enemy
ships - However you can

So learn to adapt and adjust and compensate and play to win.

NOTE to all this is all my PERSONAL opinion and not a MOD opinion

Smoke should be a valuable tactic that can bring you a winning edge in a battle not something to rely on for every attack. Reassessment of the recharge time along with changes in class usage does need to be done IMO.

Some ideas,

BB6 remove smoke
BB4/5 double reload time it is now
BB1-3 stay as it is
FF-CA same or reduce reload time.
SS - remove recharge when under water (I think this would be a fair compromise so removing it which I have suggested before)

I don't agree, I think it is fine the way it is now. It is just smoke people, it doesn't make you immune to enemy (or friendly) fire. Track the ship, if you were paying attention you should know it's last position, the smoke cover is hardly huge, fire into the smoke and adjust as needed.

Stop whining and play.

The more smoke people have, the easier it is to kill them.

People get addicted to smoke rushes and they launch smokes even though they are blind. They give away their position and become "visible".

Killing someone that uses smoke is not hard, just adjust the aiming to the navigation course and you are set. Most people don't even move their ship under smoke, they go right through the center of it.

The only place where smoke can be really dangerous is in HA where you have a coordinated attack. In GB, there is no such danger because people are mainly playing alone and it's easy to figure out what they will do once they launch a smoke bomb.

You're right. It's not hard at all, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still ridiculously dumb to spam it left and right.

People complain about slow games and boring HAs because they just become smoke stalemates. It's pretty lols tbh..
