Lately I've been noticing something while playing my Lexy and having a 120 scout
aboard. This isn't a whine thread so don't get excited.

So here's what I've noticed. I can outrun US T4's with my 120 scouts and I can
actually see them gaining distance.

In the same situation versus MN T4's the T4's seem to gain and shoot them down.
The UK fighters seem about the same.

My scouts:
P-51H
Max Speed - 700

Enemy Fighters:
P-51B (Won't catch up)
Max Speed - 660

VB-10C (Catches up)
Max Speed - 655

Tempest F.MK II (Same speed)
Max Speed - 650

So, has anyone else noticed that the speeds aren't as indicated?

P.S. I'd also like to point out that the ship trees may be out of date. At least for US.

"RL =/= NF or game balance."

If the game loosely followed realism there would be much less arguing about balance.
Pitty. I try to find realism in this game wherever I can. There's two types of people who
play this game. One's who are naval enthusiats/war buffs, and people who like mmo
pay to play games with an old school japanese rpg vibe.

I personally think the T5 scouts are balanced. They can outrun fighters, but only
when being micromanaged. They are torn to pieces when left to to their own
devices. However, micromanaging comes at a cost when you are on the front lines
and leaves you vulnerable to enemy ship fire.

"Late war reconnaissance was designed to fly at higher altitudes than enemy fighters to
avoid interception. Since this is outside the game limits it only makes sense that a P-51
with a stripped down armament and armor would fly faster. "

RL =/= NF or game balance.

You aren't looking at the positive side of things. CV's have less responsibility when
there's a battleship capable of doing his own scouting.

Are you jealous or something? You should really try one on a CV sometime. Emdens and
Moltke's have to expose themselves to enemy gunfire to even get close to them.
Watching a 4 gold bar moltke get clobbered by 3 bb's for being retardedly obsessed
with shooting down planes never gets old. Har Har Har

aud.. you can say whatever you want.. but that is my opinion.

it is stupid that my level 90 ftrs would be unable to shoot down 120 scout. That is a
balance issue when you have basically invincible scouts. there are times i'll start
going
after the scout and just say "nm.. not worth the chase".. because they are simply
going
faster.. not jinking and jiving.. just strait flying and i cant catch them.. let alone
them
LEAVING the ftrs in the dust.. lame

"I think you deserve that reward"

fine.. everyone that turns level 120 gets a special reward. gunners get auto block
shotting on all guns, engies get 70 OH on bb's, and scouts are invincible. kind of
funny extremes, but one is true..

That is consistant with testing I have observed (the locking on speed increase).

Seems to be a tad bit harsh IMO but hey...

@gump

If you level a scout pilot all the way to 120 I think you deserve that reward. The scouts
can still be easily shot down if you don't micro manage them.

There should never be an instance where scouts outrun ftrs that are locked on.

So the speed is variable depending on what the plane is doing. That makes more sense
now. Thanks guys.

Never saw bombers (i can remember US T2 DBs doing that) that were ably to run away from T3s?

Aircraftspeed is just weird.
