yea your right, i got them back to front surrey has 4 york is 3. i aint been on for a
while lol. and i spend too much time in a cv. but yea your right i got them the wrong
way round woops.

york has 3 gun points which supports 3 x trip 8 with 3 binds of ammo while surrey
has 4 gun points for 4 x trip 6.

the one with 3 gun points can fit trip 8 and the one with 4 gun points can only fit trip
6. so which ever ship fits which ever gun placements. ;) im sure the surrey only has
3 gun placements. it has been a while since i floated that one.

I'm quite sure the York can fit Trip 8L, with 3 binds of ammo.

also the only viable AA platform for uk is the emerald with elite reload gunners. uk
utterly blows on the AA front. the pom pom's are ok but the effective range is tricky
to master. and even then its not always that great and can be too fidly. best to
leave AA cover to the cv's if you play the uk line and focus on what they do best and
thats deal lots of dmg.

Man, you -can't- leech with a York in today's GB2 environment. There are way too many BB
players out there who don't realize a York is a threat until you've battered away their SD
so your BBs can move in for the kill. Generally I get to about angle twenty on the
trip-8's before they bracket me, angle ten by the time they kill, and that usually means
four salvos aimed at me, not my teammates.

Of course, not many of my teammates take advantage of the Banzai charge, but that's
another story for another day.

20k games are standard with a York, 30k if you're lucky and find a BB who doesn't know his
angles.

A Surrey... you have to be damn good at AA to make a serious dent in enemy planes with
her. You just can't compare any 4-gun ship (Surrey, County, Edinburgh, Dido) with an Emerald.

a york cruising around doing nothing all game but attacking the random DD that wonders
into view is leaching. a Surrey Pwning scouts and bombers is an asset to the team.

you'll lvl 2x as fast in surry compared to emerald As I think you were trying to say, 1k
personal credits in surrey = more xp than 4k personal in emerald with surrey lvl crew. I
also wager surrey has more crew slots for lvling.

If you want to AA in GB, then the Emerald is a better choice than the Surrey. If you
want to fight ships, then the York is a better choice than the Surrey.

IMO, save your credits and skip this dubious remodel.

@ Hero: You mean leeching? I've heard that's critical to getting anywhere in this game!

Okay, seriously though - learn your AA angles and you can do very well. I'd expect 1000
personal creds per game as an average. Note that a well played Emerald should get more
like 4000 personal creds per game, but you'll level faster in a Surrey.

For sheer fun, you can't beat a York though.

yet the surrey can aa down a few fighters and get more xp than your york getting 30-40k
attack. Not to mention you'll be developing a great and important skill.
