  • UK TBS OR DBS?

Hi Guys
Just got my UK CV and I love it but now my Torpedo pilots are lvl 55 and I want to
know what to get. I know people say that there tbs are awesome and especially at
higher lvl when they are invulnerbale to Auto AA but I'm not willing to go though that
grind. As well these days lots of CV players are using DBs on on IJN which was a no-
no in guides back in the day. Also im losing a lot of pilots from deatch by Auto AA and
don't know what to do. Your comments are all much appreciated and I know this
question is sort of noob.

Thx Everyone

LOL Lord...Torp need to eat trough SD too...and bulge...infact everything needs to
eat trough SD in order to kill the enemy...

infact TB need to eat trough more things...need to eat trough bulge, and if they have
0.2 belt will make the ship seem as if it has double the amout of bulge it really has,
and SD with again 0.2 belt cuts TB damage by half.

I tested UK TB VS US DB's damage....

with 0.2 belt, UK tb did only 2/3 the damage of US DB's.

Without 0.2 belt yes TB>DB in damage.

I think everybody who reads this, will probly put those 0.2 belt now, making TB even
more bad a of a choice.

But, choosing TB or DB is pointless, as both choices are as bad as the other. I would
go all fp, but if you wanna have a little fun, choose w/e you want. doesn't make
much difference.

But for a UK CV I think it's more important to control your FP then spending time
controling and stacking TB's. DB can stack automatically with 1 push of 2 buttons. DB
is more practical, which is why I recomended DB's. TB's are ok too and can cause
more damage to noob players without belt or bulge. I would do like KinLuu(all fp).

It all depends on the skill of the player and espacialy the luck you have!!!! XD

Well personaly i use tbs and dbs with my fps. That way its all round-up for different
missions.
Since im at ark royal i use (2dbs/1tbs/3fps) (its decent for me so note that ppls)
an exemple: a enemy sub is coming(problably spotted by my fps) a wave of dbs(2-
3) is in the air almost at all time. They drop their payload on the sub. Its sink ;or in
the case of damage, the sub dives and i just manualy tb him to finish im off.

Very nice debate :) a lot of people giving very smart thoughts. :)

Well I have played all nations CVs, and I have all nations CV5s (including all lines of
IJN). And 4 CV6s (on different accounts), and well, after all that play, I can tell you
that I am exhausted of Torpbombers.

Yes, they are great, but sincerely they require more work than auto dive bombers. I still
use manual for leagues and HAs or when its needed, but for regular battles I prefer the
easy way of auto dive bombing. I completely agree that manual its by far better, but I am
tired of the hard work, and I prefer the easy way now and Dive bombers still can do the job.

So if you are looking for little effort Dive Bombers are the choice. If you want to play
Professionally, Torpbombers and Dive bombers are good options if you play them smartly and
manually.

Just my 2 cents :)

TBs for sure.

It is a fact that if you play DBs you can do twice damage as you do with your TBs.

However, with increasing number of FW CVs and intense AAs from enemy ships, TBs can
be better in many occasions.

0.2 belt armor makes the damage of UK TBs around 4k if hit in the middle. But more
than often, BBs can dodge TBs and you end up with only 10k attack after launching 10
TBs. But still in exp wise, TBs can give you a way more exp than when you use DBs.

Regardless of everything I and people previously said, TBs are just more fun to play
than DBs.

The 0.2 belt thing really hurts TBs, but still, for UK I would go with TBs (I lied, I would
go with 8 FP).

Ill make this simple there is no arguements needed or discussions about this

I run a UK CV
I have had 8 UK TBS
I have loaded 18 TBS in the air and stacked them
I have manually TB'd a BB5
Yes the BB5 Fell

- Tbs stacked and a dead center hit = 100% impact dmg
- Tbs stacked are hard to calculate what ur being hit with
- Tbs stacked are ALOT more accurate to dead aim someone

Please dont try to talk symantics and trash DBS can do the same thing but they
have to eat through SD when torps can eat through the whole thing... Good Day

DB's:
+ Don't have to deal with bulge (Which most BB's have in considerable amounts)
+ Don't need high ability to drop their warload and come home.
+ Easier to Bomb with.
- They have very poor sight range.
- Take up more aircraft space.
- More vulnerable to AA and Fighters.

TB's:
+ When bulge is out of the picture, they do more damage than DB's.
+ Can scout much better than DB's.
+ Can evade AA and Fighters easier (Though, they're still not invincible to them)
+ If you're using manual TB (Which you should be doing) you can force enemy BB's
to turn into your BB's since they'll keep trying to dodge your TB's
- Almost every BB uses a significant amount of bulge,it can be EXTREMELY frustrating
to have 9 Torps do 9 Damage (I cannot emphasise enough the EXTREMELY)
- TB's need plenty of Vets/Experts/Boosts/Good Base and high lvl while you're at it if
they're not to get INSTANTLY VAPORIZED by AAW (I Also cannot emphasise enough
the INSTANTLY VAPORIZED.
- It's significantly harder to do successful attacks with TB's,since they enemy knows
their power, therefore they keep on DODGING,making it harder to do a good run
(DODGING cannot be emphasised enough also) (Torps do most damage in the
center of the ship, and less at the front and rear, this applies to DB's too however)

Regardless of how frustrating TB's can be,i still vote for them.

In the end however,TB or DB,it comes down to being effective with what you got.

And BTW,i haz KM TB's,hell i sold my KM DB's so i could afford to buy them! I'll admit
there are times i wished i had DB over TB,but they're not entirely useless.....

TBs, no contest.

At Best in a CV5 a full squadron of DBs will inflict about 25-35k dmg on a BB when using
UK DB's assuming all hit and it's not a AW POW or Lion.

UK TB's on the other hand, can inflict up to 90k dmg for the same squadron, assuming
the target can even survive long enough to absorb all the damage and depending on
the target's amount of bulge, However most BB's are not willing to sacrifice speed to
carry max bulge, as such you'll spend 2-6 torps to shatter their bulge but after that it's
pure damage.

If you would have read the other post i did point out the reasons why tb>db

and damage factor

Its by far TB>DB and if you dont know that there is something wrong with you
Really? how do you 3 differnt nation cvs and not know this?

Reason i suggest tb for him is its better to get the skills needed now then wait and
lvl usless dbs that no one but you want.
