yeah... i hate it when the history books have bad and misleading typos in it... but the
only us bb of ww2 i know of that has a mid-ship turret is the uss texas... but it still
had 14" guns on it

Incidentally, the New Mexico is actually a fairly nice platform. Of course, part of that is
because people seem to always look down on it and underestimate what it can do with
a good crew and driver.

Yeah, never just quote information from a single book. If there is an error you won't ever
really catch it. You should really check a couple of different sources :P Wikipedia would
actually be quite a good place to start for BB info lmao.

Can you get the ISBN number of that book? I'd love to know who published THAT
inaccurate bit of information.

The New Mexico was equipped with 14" 50 Cal guns after the refitted it had when they
removed the dual and original triples 14" turrents.
