What is it good for?
The only ability you need for good AA gunner is reload.
The only good thing that would come out of late classing is not to lose AAW ability
points. (we are talking about AA gunner, not sailor in general) But AAW is useless!
Every lvl you dont class him, you are losing RLD ability points.

lvl 12: +8
lvl 23: +4
lvl 43: +3
lvl 65: +2
lvl 79: +2

No need to delay class main gunners. Better to trim it if care to save about weight.

You only class late if the type of sailor eventually becomes AA Gunner
(the sailor with a blue coat and steel hat)

But class on time for normal gunners
(the sailor in a navy uniform and cap.)

DO NOT USE MACHINE GUNNERS FOR MN OR SN!!!

"false... once you class him as an arm sailor he gets 120% experience, and that carries
through the entire gunner tree (same goes for BO)"

Im sorry but you are wrong

thnks kons, aselus and bong.

richard,

"Mind I ask you why you're lvl 117 and don't still know what to do with sailors?"

"I was just curious, since a high lvl player should know those basic stuff. "
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- because i dont know what is the best way to get the best reload. look at ijn, to get a good
gunner for antiaircraft, they late class them.
- im just asking. if u cant help or give opinion, no problem. u dont have to waste your time to
help.
- i have check the forum on late classing SN gunners but none of them have been posted.
thats why i ask.

I ask because i dont know.

Well, it is your own interpretation that I am raging.

I was just curious, since a high lvl player should know those basic stuff.

The main reason people class gunners differently for AA is because of the stupid sailor
system. IJN/USN/UK AA class gunners lose reload ability when you class them. Only IJN HAS
to late class for maximum ability though since USN/UK normal guns are for the most part
better then the A class versions so people use regular gunners. Since SN uses normal
gunners as AA gunners there is no real need too.

That being said keeping gunners as arms sailors until late levels does have benefits.

-They gain more repair ability (every little bit counts)
-They are lighter (higher gunner classes gain more crew)
-And best yet they will probobly hit the caps still
-Arms sailors can use DC/torps/HH
-arms sailors gain more exp then gunners

The drawback is that they will cap later. Not only do they lose reload/acc ability but
they will lose crewsize. Ability and crew factor into TRUE ability.

I have a pair of late classed USN reload gunners that work nicely. They are lighter then
proper gunners and while it took longer and I needed to add more vets, they are at the
reload cap now.
