  • Test fire and Test Drive in Shipyard

As we all know, as soon as we get a new ship, we always want to test fire and test
drive and test damage it as soon as possible. There are options of ways to do this.


1) Great battle/Blitz
2) Mission rooms
3) Clan rooms with friends.



There are also negatives on why these are slow or not useful...

For option 1, Great Battle/Blitz.
There are first of all alot of better BBs then yourself probly or better CVs. You try to
get in range and yet you die tryng. So you just wasted average 8 minutes trying to
test. You accomplished your test drive though, and your test fire. Damage was not.
Check for Test drive
X for damage
Check for Test fire.



For option 2, Mission rooms.
Negative for this is that most missions are ALWAYS way too easy, or even to hard
(Advanced BB mission) or even the Test Mission. Test mission though sucks as they
just go in one straight line.
You can still test drive and test fire, but your damage will probly not be too accurate.
Check for Test drive
X for test damage
Check for Test Fire


For option 3, Clan battle with friends.
This option is probly the best out of the 3, but also still has negative. You can
basiclly do all of these things but you have to wait for your friend to get a BB and
then probly change from bb1-5 probly. This can take a long time and your friend will
probably get pretty bored. And will leave.
Check for Test Drive
Check for Test Damage (Maybe)
Check for Test fire


So how can we compltely test all of these things? I suggest we get an option to test
fire/drive in our shipyard. This option allows us to bring our current ship to a
battlefield. We have the option of what FF-BB class we want. (FF DD CL CA BB CV SS)
We have the option to how much belt deck bulge bulk of what we can put on there
according to your own educated guess of what that ship might have. You can tell the
computer to be still or do turns do circles or whatever you want.
You can also tell it to fire or not fire. This allows you to test your damage on
ANYTHING you want. You can also see if you bounce shells becuase the computer
will shoot if you want it to. I believe this will be an excelent option for players and
will help our community to be more happy and exciting.

EDIT*** We should also be able to fight alongside other players so we can have
much more fun instead of just a computer. - Startavar thanks to him.

This would be extremely useful for testing Range/Accuracy/Damage. It would be even
more useful for tweaking guidelines to get them perfect(which, judging from some posts,
people like Lairosen don't do this).

Have some harbor button that automatically takes you from your harbor to an open spot
in the testing range facility? Or possibly even allow multiple people to test in the same
area?(Removing the ability to cause damage to other ships and restricting people from
crossing each other while in the testing area.)

IMO the ability to test your setup before a battle is very important. Within in
matter of seconds you could begin adjusting to the new angles and range(assuming your new
ship has guns that have angles/ranges that differ from your last set). This is something
that I'm certain would be taken advantage of.

Kind of iffy, but I would like to revisit the idea of testing along side other
players. What about the idea of testing along the sides of friends, people who are
currently testing or even possibly simulated ships that you choose from? (either a list
of ships or possibly your own ships, as they fire at the fastest rate possible. This
would only work if the guns could operate with no gunners obviously, since lower level
gunners have less ability, and some people might not have 2 sets of gunners)

Just my ideas, so meh. I love the idea though. It would be extremely useful.

Elliot your incorrect. Read the second from last paragraph again as this details his
suggestion and everything else just goes over the disadvantages to the current
system to test your vessels.

I like this suggestion. I use destroyers mostly and although I am occassionally
required to charge an battleship or battlecruiser I mostly steam down the battleline
trying to protect our capital ships from submarines and engaging the odd charging
destroyer or scout that comes near.

So the test mission doesnt really provide such an good test. I would like something
in which I could choose the opponents type, including aircraft. The movement type
such as maybe engage, run away, straight a to b. Also maybe include the possiblilty
to have a friendly ship so that the enemy can be set to try engage them instead.

That would really allow me to test my destroyers properly

This should be moved to tips and tactics section. It's not a suggestion to improve
the game it is simply a tactic to improve how people go about when they get new
ships and they need to test their angles and what not.

Really i cant see the point, i mean what if it does test badly (which is likely at lvl), what r
you going to do about it? get a BO reset?

Also if you want to test something just ask a friend to bring the ship that you want to
test against, and do what you want them to do.

Also if you too impatient to wait the minute it takes to change a BB setup, I have no
idea how you manage to wait 4-8 minutes before a battle.

I would like to see some sort of test fire simulation in the harbour or maybe a
mission which takes into account the ship being used.

Maybe options for testing spread (no enemy ships required) as well as having a
damage test where you select the enemy ship to fire at and the angle you want to
fire at to hit him. This could make damage testing VERY easy in the future.

I thought the only time we use test mission is when we're using setups too retarded for gb
