  • New fighter Aircraft roster for carriers

I know Navyfield dos not equal to reality but I do think the Naval fighter aircraft needs
to be
changed to be more accurate. At the moment I only have the new roster for the Americans,
Japanese and British. It is difficult to find plans for the Germans and French. Note I
will be stretching the roster for the Japs with land planes. Buts that justifiable as they
historically only had three carrier born models. I will also be adding immediate post-war
planes .The locals don't count so they will stay
the same

US:
Tier One: F2A Buffalo
Tier Two: F4F Wildcat
Tier Three: F6F Hellcat
Tier Four: F4U Corsair
Tier Five: F8F-1 Bearcat
Tier Six: F8F-2 (post war upgrade) (usable only on CV6)

UK:
Tier One: Sea Gladiator
Tier Two: Sea Hurricane
Tier Three: Seafire
Tier Four: Either the Sea Typhoon or the Fireband
Tier Five: Sea Fang
Tier Six: Sea Fury (CV6)

IJN:
Tier One: A5M4 Type 96
Tier Two: A6M2 Model 21 Zero (White version)
Tier Three: A6M5 Type 0 Model 52 (Green Version)
Tier Four: A7M3 Type 11 Sam
Tier Five: Kawasaki Ki-100
Tier Six: Nakajima Ki-84

sounds intresting. how you like the Wildcat and Hellcat being the most durable (they will
have highest amount of DP and armour of their tier) of the planes.

I would recommend that NF develop several of the fighters mentioned. Most of them
would be equivalent to the T2, T3, and T4s in skill level, but offer some other
advantage and disadvantage to the existing models. These don't have to be T5s,
but simply be extra optional planes. Today, no one in their right mind would fly a T1
or T2, when the pilot is L100+. But if some variation of a T3 included some
advantage in bomber support or whatever, then it could be interesting.

Offsets could include better armor and guns, range and speed. Turning force and
even rear gunners on bombers defending. Let CVs carry more than one type of
fighter plane or bomber, to be selectable like an A/B shell locker.

Mostly because I was following the current roster with the Corsair being a higher tier
than the Hellcat. I think mainly the Corsair was the higher performing plane, but the
Hellcat was the workhorse of the US carrier fighter arm in ww2 and had a kill ration of 19:1

Shouldnt Hellcat be after the Corsair? If I am not mistaken, I believe the Corsair
was devolped and operated before the Hellcat, granted, the Corsair was superior in
many aspects... I might be wrong with my timeline, been a while.

I'm not sure if locals are going to stay or not. They are high performance short range
piston engine interceptors meant to provide quick short time cover against incoming
bombers, however they lack the range of regular fighters.

arent the locals jets allready?

the shinden was a reproduction of a german jet plane, with piston engines, becuase they
couldnt start the production of jet engines due to material shortage

For the last time. NO JETS! Keep it to piston-engine planes please.

Tier 6 fighters won't be used very much as they would be on tier 6 carriers and tier 5
would require at least a lvl 100 Flight SQ leader for US or Germany or lvl 105 ACE fighter
Pilot for the UK, Japan, France or Russia. The new tier 4 will have their performance
downgraded to between tier three and current tier 4

i say US Tier Six should be the F/A-18E/F Super Hornets... JK XD

Ok but in all truthfullness, no i think the games should stay as is. If I'm not mistaken,
people back in the day (before T4 fighters) actually used T2s and they were quite
effective. However, after the intro of T4s, T2s were totally obselete... and people, like
me, had to use locals until we got T3s, and even now to stay competitive, I need lvl a
good Seaman in order to even hope to take down a few T4s.

The only way that adding T5 and T6 fighters would work is if ALL the fighters had their
performance stats totally reworked for the sake of balance and semi-fair gameplay.
