  • Nerf reload cap on SS torpedoes

SS seem fine until they have stupidly high reload where they start spraying
overpowered torps all over the place nonstop that destroy half a dozen ships by splash
damage alone.

The default reload is what, 30 seconds or so? When you have subs with reloads of
what seems like 7 - 10 seconds, it's just ridiculous.

Everyone around me died from sprayed torps that exploded all over the place after
expiring or set off by proximity activation. Then the sub proceeded to fire 3 salvos into a
BB5 and sink it.

Yeah, I'm totally whining. Single handedly sinking the entire north strikeforce isn't
bull**** at all!

By the time the sub was detected, there was no getting away from it. I only lived
because I'm a wuss that ran like hell and abandoned everyone the moment I saw a
torp appear

Torping a zigzag frigate with a sub? Not always easy pal. Unless you're REALLY willing
to waste torps on it, it can be hard (unless it's a noob that runs straight into it). I would
be fine if torps loaded one at a time. Yet nerfing the reload speed, NO. Plus, why can't
one torp just sink a ship? It happens IRL. Oh wait. NF=/=RL. So why should reload be
nerfed if damaged isn't buffed? Stop whining just because a sub can kill you with
multiple salvos and you can't see it.

Keep this in mind... Torpedoes are a 2 dimensional weapon, they can hit anywhere
between point A(armed) and point B(expired). On top of this, they have a very large
highly damaging blast radius, and can kill most smaller ships in 2 hits.

Cannons, on the other hand, are a 3 dimensional weapon. You have to set the
inclination, angle, convergence, and they only hit 1 single point with very little splash
damage.
People who block shot a zigzagging FF01 half way across the map are either incredibly
skillful or damn lucky.
People who torp a frigate with their sub, eh, really not that hard.

Look at me, I have no skill, and I still managed to sink 5 ships with a SS2. I can never
do that in a GB with a CA

free3play your comment is uncalled for and inappropriate. please keep your coments on
topic and DO NOT FRIGGEN FLAME JUST CUZ YOU GOT SUNK BY A HEI THAT RELOADS IN
5 SECONDS. WERE TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, NOT LISTEN TO BB PLAYERS WHINING.

I could go with long reload times, if I had 30 minutes of air.
I could go with slow speeds, if I had 30 minutes of air.
I could go with fewer torpedoes, if I had 30 minutes of air.

But....

Your armor will be restricted to factory specs. No Bulge.
No more Engineer+++ speed. Factory specs.
Ship depth and turning speed and radius corrected.
Gun emplacements restricted to actual guns used. (SS can't change their guns)

Let's get real. One torpedo from an obsolete T1 UK bomber stopped the Bismarck.

If you want to put it into long perspective, then give me 30 minutes of air.

I agree with silentsubusa.

This would make subs more of a stalker weapon like their real life makes. We should
all
know that this game is in a high speed but still done in scale. The submarine reload
speed is way out of scale.

For instance, the USS Iowa can fire a full salvo every 8 minutes. The average reload
time for a German VIIC took 40 minutes to reload all 4 tubes (not counting the
torpedos in extra reserves).

See how it's a little out of proportion? If done to scale, since the Iowa reloads in
about 7 seconds (capped gunners) then technically the the time to fully reload 4
tubes should be about 35 seconds.

I think they tried to do it to scale but then screwed up on the "1 tube at a time" for
subs. Where as ships like the kitakami had crews for each torpedo station.
