  • Nerf reload cap on SS torpedoes

SS seem fine until they have stupidly high reload where they start spraying
overpowered torps all over the place nonstop that destroy half a dozen ships by splash
damage alone.

The default reload is what, 30 seconds or so? When you have subs with reloads of
what seems like 7 - 10 seconds, it's just ridiculous.

HELL NO. Lets give BBs double health but a 45 second reload cap. Same thing. But you
guys should get over the sub thing. They REALLY have to grind. You get a new sub
more than 10 levels apart, plus a 40-50 level difference between SS4 and 120 (if they
want to get there). 40 levels above is only 68% EXP. For a km ss4 to get to 120, its 46
levels (I think). Level 46 above ship level is 57% exp. You get a new BB, what, every 12
levels or so? That's still 99-98% exp. BB 5-6 is 17 levels? Still get 95% EXP. Nothing to
whine about here.

Same minute post lol. I agree if they did that they need to either nerf HH and DC to
nothing or just get rid of it.

ok, Torpedos are NOT guns. guns reload in a few seconds, but torpedoes take much
longer. they also do about 10x more damage. I have seen a HEI on grad spraying 8
torps, then reloading in 10 seconds. i counted. The torpedoes on a HEI should not
be able to reload in 10 seconds. Also, in my humble opinion subs dont have enough
air to be able to maneuver long enough in the game. I propose a solution:

Double the air time on all submarines.

Impose reoad cap of 45 seconds, and on average, quadruple the reload times on all
submarines and all torpedoes.

But you have to relize that torps are a subs only weapon. So they need faster
reloads.

No, it's about a level 60 ship wtfpwning half a dozen CLs CAs, and a BB6 all on one tank
of air.

What I'm saying though is that the maxiumum reload that can be achieved is stupidly
high.
At-level torpers are generally fine.

1: This should go in the sub suggestion tread at the top of the page....

2: It's not the torp reload that is the problem.... It's the over powed torp SPLASH
damage. Most sub kills are due to torp splash being so high as it is....

3: The subs reload fast because they have vary high level torpers on board. (If the
torper is arround the level of the sub, the reload is slower and normal like your
probably suggesting)

In my US and UK SS3's I have 6 torps to the front and 2 to the rear. If I use my
normal tactic of firing gradual from the front, spin around and fire the rear torps,
then spin around again, my front torps are reloaded about the same time I bring my
tubes to bear on the target. NOW, if I were to be firing simultaneous, 6 torps in
one shot, and firing another salvo again 4 or 5 seconds later, then THAT would be
ridiculous, but my "endless torp spray" really isn't endless at all, it's just timing. You
also have to factor in there are many people who have been playing subs so long
that they have a lvl 110+ crew that was raised SOLELY on subs, and haven't gotten
anything new in almost 50 levels. Given the experience drain for unmatched crew to
ship level, the fact that they have gotten their crews that high takes some serious
patience and playing, and when air and submerged speed get nerfed repeatedly the
fact that some subs even get as far as they do is a damn miracle.

I do have to agree though, that the reload time does seem a bit fast to be realistic
here, but then again, if we were playing a REALISTIC game here, I should be able to
sink a BB5 with one well-placed torpedo right underneath the keel ;-) There
are "unfair" aspects to all ships in NF, depending on what end of it you are on. I'd
have loved to see the crew in WWII that could reload 18" BB guns in 5 seconds or
less!

I'd agree to the nerf if some sub torpedo types were "wakeless". Electric torpedoes
were waay harder to spot.

i think you are talking about IJN SS4 , well thats normal
it have 8 torpedo tubes so it can trop and trop and trop
i think it got like 35 torpedos or so
any way thats not spray

the spray is like what kita do a wall

just let me ask you how many slavo does it take BB4 to kill SS4 and how many torpedo does
it take SS4 to kill BB4 ?

and after that tell me how many time a torpedo dud away from your ship ?? and how many
time your slave dud from an SS (none)

and how far can a BB kill SS

i've seen it over a dozen of time when a BB5 or BB4 block shoot an SS

BB=high range +high fire power
SS=stealth + high torpedo damage

you get it now

and it has nothing with reload time
cos if an ss killed you and you where in the back line of your team that is your team
fault to let that ss come that close , and if you were too close to enemy line you should
accept the risks

bottom line is

you want higher SS reload time
what about BB's giant guns ???
don't you think there reload time is too fast ??????

What you have here is a perception of reload.

If the discharge was a full salvo. Then the repeat salvo would be X seconds later for
Ship Y with Torpedoman NNN level/ability. Different ships have different reload rates.
Different ships have different quantities of torpedo tubes, front and rear.

With Gradual (F4), not all torpedoes are fired at the same time. Sometimes only two
are fired with a pause, then two more and a pause (meanwhile reload). etc.,

...or one at a time,.....a..seemingly endless torment of terror and destruction and
abject horror as the underwater beast continues its pursuit, spraying its evil spawn,
the torpedo, outward and deliberatly towards your ship......and there's nothing you
can do....
