"I would really like to know the value of, for example, the defensive cap for fighter
ability. "

Thats probably still uncapped.

Well I was just commenting on the incredible performance difference level 78 base 11
fighter pilots are seeing when I put a level 120 boosted seaman with 280 vets on board.
But I guess we can chalk the whole thing up to data scatter, and I won't bother the player
base with it any longer. =)

Well Storm, do tell me about the caps if you please.

I would really like to know the value of, for example, the defensive cap for fighter
ability.

"he seaman will enable them to act much higher level than they really are"

Please Storm, stop misleading players on the forums. Seaman give a slight % boost that is
nothing spectacular. Its not some wonder sailor that will make your crap pilots better.

A seaman is most useful when you have an incredible one (lvl 100+, over 250 vets)
and mid-level pilots. The seaman will enable them to act much higher level than
they really are, letting you hang tough in dogfights with higher level pilots.

The seaman still doesn't affect the ability cap, though. when the pilots cap, they
cap. A seaman will cap your pilots earlier, but if they're already capped, a seaman
does very little.

No idea about the AA resistance, though. It makes sense, but that's news to me,
and I've no idea what the cap on that would be.

Was it v/e too? Its an interesting theory for sure though I am not quite sold. A better
method for testing would be to use lower damage AA guns I think and 2 pilots with vastly
different stats but using the same planes. I have a collection of KM scouts and 1 is very
different in terms of level and ability so if you want to do a more thorough test let me
know.

IMO HE defense of planes is what controls AA defense though that could be wrong too.

I have done tests with my scoutpilot, before and after boosting him.

Basically I shot him with RP10 gradual and counted the hits until it went down.

And after boosting him I needed 2-3 shells more.

Since then I believe that ability has a impact on AA resistance, but tbh. this is far from
beeing a proof, because I shot only 10 scouts each time.

I never thouht about it like that Kinluu but that does make sense. I do not however
believe it would have anything to do with AA defense. I'm pretty sure the only thing that
has anything to do with flak defense is that plane stats themselves.

Seaman only makes sense if your pilots are massively BVEd. The higher the true ability of
the pilots, the higher the abolute result of the percentage based boost of the seaman will be.

And even then, the difference for FP vs FP combat is not that big. Most high end FPs will
be able to oneshot each other after all... Micro gets more and more important.

The seamans boost only really matters vs. AA and/or AAW.
