"If you have a turbo with stock fuel delivery, do not adjust the boost level. Any high
compression and 10+ lbs of boost = BOOM if you don't have enough fuel getting to the engine."

Boost in; Apex seals out

Also other small things like don't turn it off before it warms up fully. Otherwise it will
gum up the plugs and it was flood.

It's not that bad. They have their quirks that you have to pay attention to.

-Avoid cold starts as much as possible. I live in Wisconsin so it makes my car a summer
car only.

-Avoid short trips. Carbon destroys apex seals. Don't let it idle too long.

-DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL UNLESS YOU DRAG RACE. Conventional 20w50 is best on hot days.
Why? Because they are oil injected engines. They burn oil on purpose and synthetic won't
burn clean.

-If you have a turbo with stock fuel delivery, do not adjust the boost level. Any high
compression engine and 10+ lbs of boost = BOOM if you don't have enough fuel getting to
the engine.

-If the city you live in doesn't have emissions checks, remove the catalyst. It's going to
burn out in a short time anyway. Rx7 exhaust gets hotter than hell fire.

-Don't get an automatic. Just don't do it...

What is better. FB (1st gen) FC (2nd gen) or FD (3rd gen)?
FB - More of a pure sports car though underpowered. They are the lightest with the least
amount of luxury. They're not always the best to look at.

FC - A sport touring. They weigh more but can make a lot of power. Also, my convertible is
a good car to take out on a date. Sort of a sport luxury. Leather interior, headrest
speakers, etc.

FD - Probably the fastest stock Rx-7 (faster than the Rx-8 even). You'll pay a super high
price for one though. FB and FC are dirt cheap and have the same potential as the FD with
a little elbow grease and cash. The FD has the most popular appearance.

It's just mostly keeping up on regular stuff. Oil changes and top-ups, air filter and box
cleaning, cleaning carbon off of the plugs...

Hows the maintenance on the rotories?. Its one of those cars I want (rx7) but heard
maintenance is complicated.
