Hm,
I find this as a good topic. For BB players i think that seamen are worthless as that
extra support will make up for the difference of the "stats" you are trying to boost with
seamen, unless you r trying to help gunners or bo, then i say just bve them and you wont
have to worry about it.

Anyways, the reason i find this interesting is for CV players or over than bb players. I
think Seamen could offer two advantages both increasing you bombers(and fighters i guess)
AWW imunity, and increasing (most importantly) you fighters ability. I would like some
hard evidence or some sort of an athority on the subject to prove that seamen do not
stack. because i know alot of ppl on NY who are running two or three seamen to stack their
fighters fighting ability... where as this does not really help a lvl 50 ft pilot (they
get raped regardless lol) it could make the difference around lvl 100+

just a thought tho.

I did some tests a year ago with a pair of un-capped IJN DP Gunners and a bunch of IJN
seaman ranging from lvl60 to 115. Testing was done using the old "debugview" software to
extrapolate data from. most of the seaman had 10base stats and they were all BVE.
lvl60 = 1.5%
lvl70 = 2%
lvl80 = 2.5%
lvl90 = 3%
lvl100 = 3.5%
lvl110 = 4%
lvl115 = 4.5%
I can only assume that a lvl120 BVE seaman may add a 5% boost overall. These numbers are
approximate, and rounded off. ie: 2.479 rounded up to 2.5.

Additionally you should know that they do not "stack" to gain more of an ability boost.
However a lower level seaman used in conjunction with a higher one can bring the overall
boost down.

In summary, running two or even three seaman together will add no more "boost"
than the "one" best seaman does alone. Multiple seaman can bring the benefit down, but it
wont raise it.

Lastly, the tests were only done with the gunners, as I had no way to extrapolate hard
data from Repairers, Engineers and Pilots with the software at the time. My understanding
is that you can no longer see Gunner, Gunset and FCS data using the debugview software
anymore either. I have not confirmed that myself. Its only what Ive heard from another player.

Regards,
Nik

The only statement of a percentage was around four or five percent (4 - 5%). This after
the Seaman's effect was boosted--no puns, please. The effects of a Seaman do not make up
for the vital Support slot they take up. An extra Engineer or Repairer would boost their
respective abilities by at least ten percent (10%) if not much, much more.

Hmmm didnt see the potential for a joke till you just pointed it out....Oh dear...

What I am after is how the abilitiesof the Seman affect the rest of your crew.
What percentage? Or is just addded on to them all??

Cheers

Would be interesting if they can reveal the approximation of % boost for x True
ability :)

Seaman boosts the stats of abilities which are not currently at the cap.

However, they need to be high level and B/V/E to be effective.
