I also have to ask which little ship can't keep up with a BB? Even at non overheat
speeds, most of them go faster than the fastest BB overheat at 42 kts.

I asked the same question back in my nubbing days. They said it was to make the
games go faster plus to dodge torps/planes more effectively because in real life to
dodge the other ammunitions types was nearly impossible. This would make CV
Airpower key like in real life making for very poor game play.

I agree with OP, i mean my sub only does 39 knts...

I thought the same when I started this game, but once you play BBs at a high level,
you'll see how that speed adds much more dynamism to general BB play.
