LordKelvin
Welcome to my guide on the ships of the United States Navy in Navy Field! This
guide is a compilation of the knowledge of many players, new and veteran alike, and
is always growing. If you feel that something needs to be added, simply post in this
thread (or even better, send me a message) and I'll see if it's worth adding. I'm
always looking for more viewpoints about the ships in the game, so don't hesitate to
add something.

While the US is listed as being the most balanced nation in NF, many veteran players
will say otherwise from experience. Nonetheless, the US can be a fun nation to play;
some times you'll be very happy that you chose the US as your nation, though there
will also be times when you'll wonder why you chose it in the first place. It's true
that the US doesn't have any real strengths, but it also doesn't have many glaring
weaknesses, as the other nations do.

14" Pensacola > 12" Pensacola. It can carry so much armor it's rediculous. Lots of
armor + a good support crew will litterally make the ship almost invulnerable to
anything below a 16" shell. And even then, you can take them at pretty much
anything but max angle. Rush BBs, throw them into a panic and own them.

....This is awsome. and yes my Crew for the APA is enarly complete.. new AA platform and
well fleet ship hehe. So I can use My CL class for something else, though I love my
Omaha...donno it works for me and man do Enemy planes flock to it when I'm spotted...long
as I see them first I'm usualy safe but high high lvl CVs will Ninja you every time if you
don't pay attention because of a rushing DD. Mounted 7"s today for fun LoL..never done
such insane damage and attack in a game and still kept the side slots for Dual 5"
AA....so I didn't feel left out.

Im not sure, if it is in guide, but i would add some levels/abilities, from which it is
goos to think about using certain ship. For example:
Northampton BO ability - 600 is not enough to mark shells,
Cleveland gunners L65 - you can land all shells on CL going parallel to you, no problem
with dealing GB PCL if spotted at time.

I have leveled up 2nd Bo into northampton and i dropped playing it. BO cant spot shells,
Gunners L50, boosted have shotgun spread and with them the ship is just food, L76 gunners
- nice spread + reload, but i cant see where they fall.

This should save some troubles.

I don't think it needs a lock. I'm actually encouraging people to post in here to give
their opinions on the different ships so that I can make the guide better. Of course, I'd
prefer if they send me a well-formatted message instead so I don't have to dig through
this thread, but them's the breaks.

-e- By that I don't mean unsticky it >_<

Excellent work everyone. Request stickie.

As an aside for the NO, I choose a mid-path between armour and speed whore. I use a CV II
engine which gives me 25/42 at max displacement and no engie, while I still have 4.5"
deck. Yes, 8" get through, but they do like 100 damage each, which combined with SD and
rep, might as well be zero.
