  • Das Deutsche Speed Cap Table, Ja

LordKelvin
So, as promised (albeit many, many months later), here is the speed cap table for KM
ships. Since I already did most of the hard work writing the table for USN, you guys get a
treat in that this table is somewhat improved over my other one in USN. Again, since
Adalbert was the one who figured out how Engys stack, remember to give him your
thanks for this thread if you ever see him.

And in the event that this gets stickied (my first for KM!), I'm going to put the bulk of the
data down below in the next post(s).

nice one and thank you for the work and time invested.

one point worth addition maybe ;
i checked the engines for the h39 and realized that , even if all 3 engines are valid and
usable at the ship there is not much choice , as the bbIII gives you 3 long seconds of
base OH time from the scratch on. This is alot of time if running away from a rush :)

My idea would be to open a new thread / remodell this one to a general Engine thread for
the KM. Recommendations and so on.

regards
pepek

Thanks!

"for me it will only be worth studying this with given times for OH."

Beggars can't be choosers. If you want overheat time listings, you can make your own
table...

The bad thing for me is I have no money to purchase boosts for my engies, so yes they suck.

I can only hope to either buy some when I turn 18 with the PayPal I'll connect to my bank
account or just buy them off of people with earned credits.

The OH time depends on your engineers only (except for a very few seconds, depending on if
you use a light, medium or heavy engine [but you always use a heavy]), which means that
there isn't much point in including it in a boat/engine data table.

for me it will only be worth studying this with given times for OH.

^^^ Hitting the speedcap depends on every engine.
The speed at the end depend on the engine itself, ship and your engies.

To asnwer your question: You will have a tough time hitting the speedcap with a DD
engine, which wont let you cruise as fast as bb engine because of the engine power.

So say the speedcap for a ship is 45 knt.

assuming you use bb1 engine on that ship and are well over the cap, can you switch down to
dd engine (assuming your engineers are good enough to let you reach the cap still if it is
using this system) and still hit 45 knts? I assume this is wrong but its worth a check.
