Holder post. If you could not figure out, these are all separate solutions, NOT one giant
solution in steps

Before I move on, I'd just like to clarify something about Hackshield.
There are MANY other games that use HackShield (Maplestory, Combat Arms, War Rock to
name a few). Also, a different anti-cheat software called Punkbuster is much more intrusive
than Hackshield. In the case of Punkbuster (which is HackShield x2), many more games such
as the Battlefield series, Call of Duty series, Need for Speed, F.E.A.R., Medal of Honor
and many more use it. Hell, even the US Army uses Punkbuster in its full glory for
America's Army 2 and 3. Hackshield is a legitimate anti-cheat program that has been around
for a while and has been trusted by literally HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of players across the
gaming world. It will not steal your personal info, nor release it.

Here's a list of known HS problems and fixes:

@aniron
make sure your virus protection is not interfering with hackshield or any part of
navyfield (launcher, client, etc.)

I GOT NEWS !!!

I have good news, and bad news !!

Bad ones, after adding those programs to DEP error 3000ffff has appeared (relative
to unable to update). Any case i dont worry about that because game opens and
runs normally ..... and who wants more HS updates ??? ... me not...

Good ones !!!! I found it !!! as i especulate using my intuitive sensor
over "malicious" programs, i have discovered that HS effectively does intruse into
System and windows NT Kernel. The specific file u must allow for login
inconveniences is ntoskrnl.exe. This file is essencial and belongs to system32 folder
so its a windows system archive and its supposed nothing had to deal whit
Hackshiled or NF files or folders.

Its enough for login succes to give permissions (allow traffic) to these 3 files:

- EnfunsUpdater.exe ---------> allowing acces to 125.141.243.26
- Navyfield.exe ---------> same IP from above
......and
- ntoskrnl.exe ----------> allowing acces to 211.43.149.200 (in these case,
yamato server IP) BE CARE; System32 file !!!

***was not neccesary to allow navyfield launcher.exe or more files.
***was not neccesary to modify windows internal firewall (adding exceptions)
***no others tricks needed

---------------------
Unfortunatly, i still got my firewall "bugged" and i still continue receiving packs of
transfer even if NF is closed. As ntoskenl.exe is a system file, the fact of allow it
trought internet has opened several ports LISTENING; that means constant
incoming traffic but there is no outgoing traffic. These could be a reason for
increased lag that some players have been experiencing.

There is a way to avoid this but i still dont do it so i cant guarrante yet; u can do
special exceptions or special rules to your firewall.

As an example, ntoskrnl.exe works this way:

ntoskrnl.exe = TCP ***Local port (1048) Remote port(8060) allow all traffic to
211.43.149.200
***Local port not always is the same
but u must add a second rule because the game uses 2 ports:
ntoskrnl.exe= TCP ***Local port (1045) Remote port 16671 allow all traffic to
211.43.149.200

Finally, if u wish, u can block all incoming traffic from LISTENER ports. U must check in
your firewall all ntoskrnl.exe connections not related to those above and make
another special rules. The problem for this step is that most of the traffic IPs have a
mask/shape and is not easy to find out the IPs.

Thats all for now

@crusoe,
I am not too familiar with windows xp.
My best advice would be to add navyfield, navyfield launcher, and HSUpdate to the data
execution prevention exception list. If that doesn't work, send in a support ticket

Hi friend

i큞l try u before support ticket just because they might be very busy
(i큟 an spanish speaker so i'll try my best .... without google translate :D)

I have been configuring my firewall (both, windows and private one) and i still cant
log into the game unless i turn off completely my private firewall so its obviously that
i have configured correctly windows firewall but not the private one. In this case i'm
using SPF (sygate personal firewall)

i have allowed all protocols and incoming/outgoing traffics for:
- the 3 *.exe files related to Navy (updater, navy and launcher)
- HSUpdate
- Ahnreport
- HS Log Manager
- HS auto update utility
- and a file called xfire_installer.navyfield.exe

As a result relative to game, i still cant login unless i turn off SPF completely allowing
all incoming and outgoing traffic .... and i dont want to do that !!

As a mayor problem, after allowing those programs related to HS, my firewalls have
been affected. Windows internal firewall has shown some kind of "bug" !!
(XP Professional SP3)

When i go into "windows security center" and i check my firewall status its shown
as "activated" ; if i disabble it, windows security center still shows me "enable"
status even if it is disabble but, if i check the status via porperties, windows firewall
it's efectively dissabled.
Any case this is an strange "bug" but apllied to the game factor, does not affects the
gameplay.

....meanwhile, SPF has been receiving incoming traffics constantly since i allowed
acces for all those files even if NF is closed so i dont want to "allow all" when
playing. Notice that i had no traffic when i was not using internet just because i have
all system programms blocked just like svchost, ntoskrnl, lsass, etc., and all related
to system and windows NT Kernel, generic host porcess for win32 services, etc.
In fact, Absoluty all BLOCKED and before HS, NF ran perfectly, also all the games and
programs, specific atualizations, etc.

Afte this, i assume HS has made an intrusion in a system program blocked but
before allowing i would like to know if U know about other programm related to navy
that might be allowed such an specific .dll or an specific svchost connection or
protocol for example.

......something tells me that i went too far!!!

Heeeelp !!!!

If you failed to update, make sure the updater and launcher are running as admin. You can
also try adding them to the DEP, and if that doesnt work, try redownloading the manual
patch and enfuns updater
