Splid
Just thought I would post a tiny bit about myself so you know a bit about this random who
is writing all this junk :)

I am Splid and have played NF since mid-late Beta. My first nation was KM and I got all
the way up to H39 before getting any other nation's crews. I am a Jedi and also a member
of the Hall of Fame/Shame and I am attempting to take over all the stickies in the KM
forum (j/k).

OK, Here is the Guide posted below. As always, criticism is welcome and I hope you enjoy
it. Tomorrow I will add pictures and some easier headings to see for all the ships. But
I am too tired to do that now....

Also, feel free to PM me any questions you may have. It helps to make me feel more loved,
and not so terribly alone :(

In today's Navyfield GB2 environment the O2 is a much better suited ship then the BSM or H39.

Let's face it when you are in battle you usually stay in opposite lines until your CV
and/or AA'ers are able to blind the enemy then you make your push. With it's great speed
and damage, combined with having tripples on the front and good AA, the O2 can easily rush
a BB4/5/6 and sink them and thus turn the tide of the battle. The BSM/H39 simply do not
have the speed/damage output to be able to rush ships like the QV and sink them before
they can scout you.

The last few days I've sunk numerous BB4/5 and a QV(single-handedly), because I've been
able to exploit my speed and damage while working with my team's BB5/6 to make pushes at
the enemy lines. The Bis and H39 simply do not have the damage output or the speed to be
able to rush and sink key enemy ships and win the game for your team.

The Bis and H39 may have better range, and may follow the traditional KM play style more,
but this isn't BB rooms, this is GB2. You won't have superior range in your H39 because
you will be opposite numerous L2's and even BB6's, so all your advantages simply go out
the window.

So really, why would you go the BSM when you could get the O2? not to mention the extra
support slot that will set you up better for H39.

When I first started NF, which wasn't that long ago mind you, I went down the KM line
since I thought it was going to be fun. Plus the guide saying that KM had the best gunners
pretty much sealed the deal for me. It was a rough start, seeing how I flaked and switched
over to CV instead of following the Bissy line like I planned to. I had no clue what I was
getting myself into, but now thanks to some leveling my BB line is up to the mighty h39
and I love it. My CV/SS line are also doing very well for themselves. But I still have a
way to go in the ways of properly handling the H39 but I never leave a battle without
dealing out more damage then I take, even if it's slim, If I can see my targets I do just
fine. I still have a long way to go in fighting blind but I'll get there eventually.

I think I was spoiled by my old Penn43's, and for KM, my Gnei's speed. My Bismarck does 37
knots, and I've been having a hard time actually doing well with it. For the most part I
just sit back and AA, because every time I have thought the enemy line was blind, I got
nuked. The speed is nowhere near as forgiving as Gnei's was, and its causing me problems.
So, my questions are these:
1. Is 25/37 slow for an at-level Bismarck?
2. is 450 sd low for an at-level Bismarck?
3. Do I need to relearn how to rush?

Any tips would be appreciated as well. Every now and then I get lucky and the ship shines,
but for the most part I'm just a slow tub with low SD.

Splid, while your post was discouraging towards the end with your talk of hard mode and
how tough the grind is. But I am starting to realize how it does pay off if you take pride
in your ability.

Before I learned to rush and found out how much armor I should have loaded on my BB I was
lucky to score 10K, and I never survived the round. And if i did live it was because i was
too far back and just swatting at Air units for points. I knew something was wrong with my
approach to the KM way of life.

After reading your guides and the posts of the other good KM players out there I am coming
out of matches with more and more overall attack every round. Ships are now falling to my
salvos and i am even getting some solid pot shots on the bigger boys when they are not
gunning for me. Even in my BB2 I usually walk away with 50K + damage every round.

Whats even greater about this is the fact that my levels are rolling in faster than ever
before. I put in a good grind today and netted myself 7 levels, every round I walked away
with 30k + exp on my BO and I am now on the fast track to the Bizzy.

A big thanks to all the info you put out here Splid, you gave me the outline to follow
while touching on the small nuances of good KM play. And i want to thank the other KM
players while I am here, your little tricks and tweeks have made me a far mroe lethal
opponent overall!

SPLID:

The Moltke is the KM뭩 Premium Heavy Cruiser and it is a fine ship. The best guns for the
Moltke are the Kust 11"L which allow 4 binds which is easily enough for a battle.

i reccomend 2x 5.9 tripple inch guns as they are not that heavy and the kust has a slow rld
speed.
