The majority of this post is in the first reply, thus eliminating the long thread on every
page. I will work on updating this post periodically taking in the input from fellow
players. Thanks to all for the input and making this such a great game!

Nitro -- I would probably recommend two engy's of equal level.

Two engy's are nice for speed factors, but when they are imbalanced (one much lower than
the other) the second engy can actually slow your sub down. This is due to how the speed
bonus is applied. When there are 2 engy's, the first one is only factored at 70%.

As you go up in ss class, you will be able to use the engy's with other support sailors.

I have a question, should i have 1 Engy and 1 Seamen, or 2 Engy's on my SS2?

DC and HH help

DC's are deadly. If you see them drop, IMMEADIATELY critical dive. You can finish the
crit dive before they explode.

HH's on the other hand explode quickly, but don't do damage to surface ships. In some
cases, its better to surface with them. Direct hits from HHs will still kill you on the
surface.

Roll for more vets to kill off some experts other than that no not really. I run my engies
at full and my planesman and sonarman at about 90% full. If you plan to go Hei I
suggest stripping your rear torper slightly as you won't need two on the SS4. So your
best bet is to make your BO as skeletal as possible and removing some recruits from
your rear torper. Doing might give you enough space for another knot of speed/room
for bulge.

It is quite possible I've been misinformed but I have heard/been told that the hyper
torpers also causes the torps to be picked up by enemy sonar later making them harder
to dodge. Once again I have no clue if this is true and I don't feel like starting a new like
of torpers just to test this.
On another note this is the reason engies are REALLY important for IJN subs. I own two
IJN first engies.
1. lvl 86 full BVE +189% base 11
2. lvl 70 full BVE +120% base 13
Without any armor or other supports *aside from the necessary* I only get 26/34 but a
48 sec overheat. With engies that size most other sub will get atleast 36 if not 37knots
in overheat. So I cannot emphasize more the importance of STARTING YOUR ENGIES
EARLY.
