Hey, LK, a few videos should you choose to use them in your guide. I use the whole
shebang of stupid, lame, and indiscriminately dangerous tactics.

Depth Charge Damage Radius Analysis (1 CL length deals ~2k damage submerged per DC)

Me Trying

If you play well, you WILL get your sub kill. In the span of two days, I destroyed over
60 submarines in about 70 games, with most of the games without kills actually due to the
fact there were none to kill :-/

Hi!

I뭢 sorry for my bad-poor-crappy english, but i need to say something:

I뭢 testing some ASW configs in the last weeks, and for now, i prefer the Brooklyn
(equipped with x3 6쭻k 6L + only 8 DC) over the Somers & DDX ships, in order to fight
against SS1/2 in normal rooms.

DDs are weak for me right now. You can carry 43 DC in the Somers for example, but they are
useless if you cant reach the target area, or cant survive five seconds there. Try to
avoid Kita + Kuma torps walls, plus FF/DD/CL/CA/BB and SS fire and torps with the
Somers/DDX, and then try the same with the Brook.

In fact, i killed at least 230 subs with my Brooklyn (an average of 1 per game). But using
DDs, i need 2 games to kill a single sub :S

Well, maybe i need to improve my tactics, so꿬 keep trying.

Btw, nice guide and pictures, thx you :)

Saludos desde Argentina.

Pretty Good thread! very impressive... how about the other nations? do you have boats you
would want to suggest as purely ASW roles

""4. Watch your overheat
It's no secret that your sonar doesn't work when you overheat, but what isn't well-
known is that how long it takes for your overheat to come back online is directionally
proportional to how long you overheated."

I'm a little unclear on what you're saying here. Should it say "...that how long it
takes for your SONAR to come back..." rather than 'overheat'? "

Ok when you run any ship/submarine in OverHeat mode you're pushing your engines above
their normal running conditions. They generate more speed for you and also more noise.
This extra noise generation effects your sonar detection. So you only use OH when really
required, and not when your hunting for your next sub kill.

Generally 4 DC's are all you need to sink any T2 sub, 6 is more of a waste than anything
else (and does more damage to your hull). This is also where patience pays off, since
dropping four depth charges straight on top of an enemy sub will sink just about *any* sub
out there, regardless of SD. The problem is that the smart ones try to crash dive before
you get too close, and this makes it troublesome to keep up with if there are enemy ships
nearby shooting at you. There's also the problem that if you cripple the enemy sub, it
automatically surfaces, which means that you'll have to resort to surface weapons to
finish it off (or just drop multiple DC's right on it)

the real fun comes when you have real high lvl torpers
i have never used us ships for asw but i have used a simakaze with 3 dc and lvl 64
torpers. it is hilarius droping 6 dc per secound. i
jsut try to drive lanes over subs like this. i have also used this to attack bb's with
high speed i ran next to them and started droping dc's in voluime will do alot of
damage did about 25k at before i got killed. that is when asw getts to be a real
distraction.
