Air dropped mines work quite well if you can catch a sub on a predictable course
with no DD's or FF's in the area to detect the mine.

That being said manually air dropping single mines against an alert or skilled sub
driver is unlikely to yield great number of hits.

Still worth a try though if you get bored or like me you have a stock of mines in the
shipyard going rusty. Just remember to clean up unexploded mines or warn
teammates where you have dropped them, hitting friendlies is bad for business.

"4. Watch your overheat
It's no secret that your sonar doesn't work when you overheat, but what isn't well-
known is that how long it takes for your overheat to come back online is directionally
proportional to how long you overheated."

I'm a little unclear on what you're saying here. Should it say "...that how long it
takes for your SONAR to come back..." rather than 'overheat'?

Excellent work as always LK. Love the new message bubbles.

Oh yea, one thing I was playing around with my old brooklyn and found that it was a pretty
good AA and ASW ship. So far there haven't been too many chances of having a SS get into
actual range because they're getting smarter these days to avoid anything smaller than a
CA. But Brooklyn AA + ASW works pretty well so that you won't just be running around on
ASW patrols. Not so sure if I can pull it off with Atlanta's fewer T-slots.

One other thing though for anyone else wanting to try this, the brooklyn's t-slots are
infamously small (lack of space) so you only get to launch two walls of torps and that is
if you mount torp launchers on both sides. Not sure about how many depth charges you can
load. So you got to make your torps count. But if you find yourself swimming in parallel
to a SS, it's most likely that the SS won't survive the massive wall the Brooklyn can
unload, i.e. pool is closed lol.

The point of this guide isn't to maximize your XP gain anywhere, everybody already knows
that there's no XP rewards for ASW. But some of us play ASW for fun and not just to get XP.

Great guide. But as pnov has already mentioned. There is no reason why a DD/CL
would want to ASW. The rewards are just not worth the effort.

IJN ships have far better torps in all area's over us, and they normaly have more
launchers and reloads. Though most ss arnt smart enough to crit dive, or atleast
the ones I have faced.

Sorry to spoil your work on the guide, but here are results of using DC's on Yubari - they
are no different from any US ship.

Using DC = FAIL!

**edit**
Should also add I scored hits with normal guns and got 100 xp thanks to DC.

as well, bear in mind that when using TB's to sink a sub, when it's submerged, aim
a coupla points BEHIND where it's torps came from.
Most times when you HAVE to TB a sub, it's because it's coming for you and there's
no DD presence to help kill it. So, wait till it fires, then use that as an aiming point
(as most of the time you won't be able to see the sub itself), and aim behind the
origin of the torps, seems to have worked for me so far.
