This is from playing MN on the test server. Things might have changed, your milage
may vary. But until the stickies start showing up with authoritative answers... this
might help.

"Tourville - this CA has a brutal 15 torp broadside using either the level 49 or 59
launchers AND it has torpedo space, so it has limited ability to reload them."

....

The nation has the best AA in the game. Why even suggest using torps?

L'Adroit vs Le Fantasque - with only one level difference, there's a remarkable
difference in the ships themselves. L'Adroit plays like a FF, seriously, only with better
firepower and a 6 torp broadside. Le Fantasque is heavier and slower, but has more
firepower, including a 9 torp broadside. the level 49 triple 19 torps fit on both of
these and seem to be rather lethal.

EDIT - After playing L'Adroit, i'm finding that it does not have enough displacement to
hold both torpedoes and a 20th level crew. I'm running zero armor and having to carve 50
recruits off my supports and BO just to stay under max weight. Thing needs a displacement
buff.

Mogador - wow. Decent firepower, a 10 torp broadside, and FAST. Lordy it's fast. At
max displacement, it moves at 38/50. It also CAPS at 50, so no engies are required.

Pluton - a step down from Mogador. I"m not sure what the purpose of this ship is,
but it"s about as useful as choosing a Dido over an Emerald. And it"s not fast.
FAILBOAT.

Emile Bertin - scout plane, 3 turrets of triple 6 (or dual 8's with 1 bind of ammo), not
as decent a torp setup as Mogador. first chance to really AA with T slots, but with
only 4 barrels per side, why bother? Good for ASW, though, an average ship.

La Galissonniere - an upgrade to the Emile, its just as fast, with pretty much the
same armament.

Tourville - this CA has a brutal 15 torp broadside using either the level 49 or 59
launchers AND it has torpedo space, so it has limited ability to reload them. It"s
equally brutal with hedgehogs, with 5 mounts per side, but no ability to spot subs
on it"s own. It"s got a great 8 barrell 8" broadside, and it too is FAST. I was able to
hit 56 knots with it and hold a seriously fat crew. It cannot, however, mount useful
AA guns.

Bretagne - Again, wow. The level 71 13.4 duals fit on this thing with 2 binds of
ammo, or the level 56 13.4"s with 4 binds, giving it a 10 gun broadside. At max
displacement, it caps at 37 knots, but 39 knots with a mere 400 tons shy of max
displacement. Only 33 knots with 0 engineers, but 36 knots with even one. and it"s
SMALL. this thing is a beast, mounting a 4 dual-gun broadside of fantastic 25 golden
angle, fast reloading AA.

RANGE NOTE - The level 71 13.4 duals are DEAD even with the US 16" Mk2L guns.

Lorraine - this seems to be a step backward. it gains no access to larger guns, only
more ammo, upping the level 71 13.4 duals to 4 binds of ammo. It has less T slots
and is SLOWER. I dub thee failboat.

Normandie - 3 quads, but you'll be short on ammo in the best of times. the plentiful T
slots have space, but no arc of fire, so people will be tempted to use them for torps.
Unarmored and with no AA, she makes 24/36 and caps at 40. At max displacement,
she's still 23/39 with only a single engineer. Nice, but the firepower had better be
fierce indeed, because it doesn't carry enough ammo to last through a GB.
