  • A bit of fine tuning anyone

War5pite

Just added to the test server!

Not alot in detail yet but soo far quite concerning in the potential for how bad this could go wrong, anyways heres some screenshots.

All the available items

[

And I guess the means to bolt them to your ship

All we know is they are Olive funded items and have a duration of 3 days.

Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

AMZING! MORE PAY TO WIN GAMES! This is it, this is the crap that makes players leave the game.... Instead of fixing the actual problems like HA, broken ships, bugged rooms, crashing and so many other problems actualy present in the game, they just add more and more stuff that will break even more the game without a posible solution....

As soon as this patch is released (if its released) im leaving. Every other online game ive been playing this last 6 months fixed old problems beofre launching new stuff. $DE - NF dont, they add more problems and break even more the game.

WAKE UP USELESS ************* IN $DE, FIX THE BLOODY GAME.

Yes its real, Blacksun was having an active discussion last night about the most recent patch to the test server. We were also wondeing when a GM/Mod/Vick was going to mention 'Ship Tuning' in detail to the public since Vick has mentioned it earlier this week but no details.

At any rate SDE has decided to gift this to us, I seriously hope with enough feedback we can prevent any live patch. We did it before with the anti-cheat software hackshield, no reason with enough clamour we can't do it again now.

My personal speculation

If you look closely at the third picture it looks to me like you can load up to 6 tunning mods to a ship. This isn't suprising because NF2 also allowed a similar upgrade system when I tested their open beta.

What does this mean? Imagine +10% overheat with 10% displacement then 10% turning force with 5% weapon dmg & 5% reload speed and either +2 accuracy or +1 armour pen. Add this to a Queen Victoria BB6 and its going 40 knots with massive Armour and retarded offensive potential.

Or what about a Cheesecake (Charlemange) going over 46 knots.

Or even better, what about the 5% R mount increased space, all the bbs and ebbs that have been balanced can now in theory mount higher Tier guns with ammo (or guns they were never intended to have) especially with the 20% increased ammo capacity mod. Imagine a Vanguard with Lion1 tripple turrets, it would work because the ship would have +10% displacement and +10% overheat. /wrists

This gets real ugly, real fast. Navyfield's saving grace for me was it was never a Pay to Win game, time and skill was all that was required. I Feel sick.

Summary basically a moded pcv could get all 8 pilots up with 3 pilots for 24 planes total  before a nonmodded pcv could get his first wave of 9 planes up.

It gets alot worse than that. There is an aircraft speed +10% and a fighter +10% attack speed. Depending on how you calculate the speed values you could get :

A standard US T4 fighter plane goes 660 speed, upto around 695 with attack speed.

A buffed US T4 fighter plane will go between 726 & 792 speed depending on how they calculate the numbers. Now factor in 10% faster loading time with 10% more fuel and 10% more aircraft defense. Finally add the 10% fighter damage and your done.

The end result would be so catastrophically unbalanced that non-paying players would never stand a chance.

Oh, so this is what that system is then? That's what they were working since the border humping patch? These guys are awesome and know perfectly how to invest their time. The resources invested on NF1 are few and we know it, but the most awesome issue is how they use them:

-They could invest their time on designing and giving us proper funny and enjoyable game modes instead the GB-after-GB Navyfield that has been there for years. They could fix the broken-forever HAs, years have been that way. They could fix the Fleet War Mode, broken since it started. They could fix the op_convoy, with a proper balance system and giving some exp too, a funny and different game mode, but nah. Let's create WaW, retarded arcade-fictory-less team work game mode ever with aberrant amount of exp for acelerating the end of the game, let's create skirmish room noone play because limits are bad designed. Let's keep wasting the few resources put in the game. How much lost job from devs in all those game modes?

-Oh, the money, ya. Let's make money. Of course short-term money, thinking in medium or even long-term is for noobs. Let's develop a olive trade sytem, let's work on it, put it to work, let's make money, but nah, too much work, let's just delete it. Work of the developers in creating that system, lost. And the money won there? That money is just gone in real-money transactions out of the game in a market that is getting so big and big than most of you would believe. All lost money that with the proper system most of it could be redirected to SDE. Also non-paying customers would get a way of getting olives and buying items making the population larger.

-Let's make money. Let's create the EBB events. Let's create ships just painting already done ships. Let's create like 50 different ships between the BB2 and BB4 tiers. Even some pbbs are better than most of them. Why not making ECLs special for ASW or AA, why not making EAPAs, why not making ESSs ... why not giving in events something really useful you can use for example on a HA? Why not really exploring new things for the game? Nah, lets keep painting BBs and calling it EBBs, calling it "new content", lol.

-Let's make money. Let's create the nation reset items. Fantastic. If i want to make a SN, RM or MN nation i just have to reset my old UK or US BO and buy for real money the crew, just need to message someone that leaves the crew on trade forum and put there the e-mail. Fantastic. I got a lvl120 BB6 instantaneously of new nation, profit for sde 25$. Just fantastic.

-Let's make money. Let's keeping experimenting with items like the 200 items that included a pair of lvl 90 BOs instead making a complete redesign of the old NF store making proper packs of items. Like HA pack item, some smokes, some premium HHs, some mines, a pair of harbor expansions. Like starting elite crew packs? (not the stupid starter pack). Any idea of marketing?

-And now, by all means, let's make money. Pay-to-win items for ships. Excellent. Let's keep thinking that way. Minimum effort, short-term money.

The solution for making more money Mr SDE ppl is not making more items, is doing things well done. Is bringing people to the game, and for that you have to explore and develop its possibilities, focus on fixing bugs, crashes and desyncs and develop funny and well-designed game modes, bring olive trading for minimizing the trades for real money and giving non-payers kids options to get premium stuff and well, much more things you can do for getting $$ in a more sane way than with items like these.

I sure as hell am not letting this happen.

I feel sick, this is just absurd. Not letting this happen the way it looks like it will, no way.
