IJN BB Guide

I am writing this guide, because I see a lot of random questions about the IJN BBs.
The Stickies we have are out-dated, and some of the new guides are a bit.... ugly to
say the least. So here is a simple guide of IJN BBs.

I also do not own a Ise, so I will not comment on that ship.

Order of Appearance
Crew
Kongo
12.2"L vs 14"N
Fuso
14"L vs 16"D
Nagato
Yamato
Super Yamato
Amagi

Yes, they will reach the cap. At what level they reach it depends on base skill and how
many vets you have. I had the same problem and vetted up to 130 vets. If you didn't
level correctly it means you will hit the cap 5 levels later than correctly levelled DP
gunners so really its not a super big deal.

@Pegleg85 In order to know when to switch to AP, you must look at the ships speed, and
how many guns. If a Lion 1 , PoW or Nelson is going 35 to 37 knts, you need AP.

If a PoW/L1 is going 42+ knts with 2 turrets, you will not need AP.

And you will always need AP, because angles 40 and below will not cut through a 10.6" L1.

This is a great guide.

I have a question about LHE vs AP rounds. It would be good to have a guide about
when to switch to AP with certain guns vs certain ships.

My guess at the AW ships (are there any besides UK?) are:
Nelly, POW, KGV, L1, L2, QE

In IJN BB line the guns are pretty simple going from 12" duals (Kongo, Asama),
12.2"trips (b65), 14"N (Asama), 14"L (Fuso/Ise), 16"D (Fuso/Ise ftw setup), 16"L
(Naggy), 18.1L (Yammy), 18.9 (SuperYam), 20.1" (Amagi).

It would be nice to know which ships can bounce (typically) which shells. I know that
IJN has decent reload and thus the accepted technique is to fire first LHE and then
see how much damage you scored but in the scenario where you get jumped by
some UK ship appearing out of the mist every salvo counts.

Is there a certain gun size where you don't even need to bother with AP (i.e. 20.1"
Amagi guns)? I know that it is complicated because gun angle affects armor bounce,
so for the purpose of this question lets assume max angle firing.

Thanks in advance.
