Really you still think that Vanguard is better than L1?

L1 is far supperior to the vanguard purely based of range and aw capability, its just
a far tougher ship with much mroe firepower and survivability. if you play the
vanguard try it with 4 x quad 14 inch guns rather than those poxy 15 inchers. the
range is about the same too. and you have many more shells to land hits with. just
dont get shot lol, the vanny is paper thin.

my only grip with the L1 is its range. although it has better range than the vanny, it
doesnt have enough range to face other ships of the same tier. the only thing that
saves th eL1 is its armour and heavy fire power. get caught off guard and the l1 is
toast. its easily out manouvered and its slow too.

it doesnt matter how much armour you have when your being outranged. the range
is everything with uk ships, if you dont have the range your battle is going to be a
short one.

I've just reset my L1 to Vanny ( because i dont have much free time to grind another BO)
and my performance seems to be better thanks to the short hang time and better reload +
spread ( like block shot every under 25 degree shot), this makes up for the low shell
damge. Furthermore, people still underestimate Vanny, so I have much more chance too make
them regret xD

And Vanny is surely slow, I cant chase any BB4+ at all, but being a line fighter is fine.

Lol Vanny and L1 are not that bad. You can't compare apples and oranges. But I feel
vanny needs to have 44 knots speed cap to be well balanced against other BB4's.
Besides, it does have the lowest hitting BB4 guns in the game.

Vanny needs Reload gunners, L1 is good with Accurancy gunners. Hence the reason
vanny performs well at higher levels.

PS. Vanny is not fragile based on tests. Yamato is the most fragile and Richeliue the
hardest.

The Vanny is very enjoyable. It starts out tough but once you know the in's and out's of
the ship and how to play it, the levels just fly by.

My first BO, I played the Vanny for 20 levels to the L2. My second BO, is 116. That's 47
levels on the ship and I'm still not tired of it. Choose it and enjoy it. ;)

Vanny road is hardcore, that's what I have to say.

I'm about to hit 89 and based on what i have read I will try the vanny. etter anyway.

Echoing what has been said the L1 can basically run in and with a few lucky salvos and
dodges on its part take out the core bb5-bb4 of the other teams wing. And 44 OH doesnt
hurt when your chasing down a lumbering H44. Personally I like how well rounded the L1 is.
44 knots overheat and 40 degree angle guns make for interesting rushes and runs imo.

well, when using the revenge to L1 line you learn when to rush and when not to
rush. your armour is spectacular and you can stand a few hits and basically you
bring the fight to them.

when using the renown to vanguard line you learn to take oppertunistic shots and
rushes, you learn to be carefull and wait for your turn to attack, when you get to
hood/vanguard essentially all you do is wait for the opponent to get in range or
close enough for you to get in close, wait for them to bring the fight to you.

L1: bring it to them and hit hard.
vanny: take your time and hit em when they make mistakes.

Okay - burn me if you want to, but hopefully not...

I'm working on Renown line currently - I delve into Dunkirk occasionally too. I find
that the skills I learn in either ship will prepare me for different play styles.

Ultimately, I prefer the play style of the Renown, and I am looking forward to
earning the Vanguard as a ship to play and hopefully succeed in having fun in.

For anyone to really ask for which ship is better, well, maybe a grab for points?
Asking for tactics might be a better way to pose a question, or sharing of successful
tactics that make a Vanny worth choosing to play even better.
