the walking part shows how tough our marines are :)

nobody has attacked my assult ship/marines/sbs/ocean/lynx yet

we won the falkland war, and pretty much every war we've been in

US with all your tech and bigness, have been catastrophic in wars alone...vietnam
fail, late arrivers in WW1 and 2, made a mess of iraq etc etc etc

Wow... just wow.... reading the orginal post, you are in love with old, outdated ships.
First, Endurance is ancient.... even when Invincible was new, it was small. You picked a
bunch of Falklands war veterans. Not that I have anything wrong with them at all, but
they're hardly the best. Some comparisons:

CVN76 Ronald Reagan 106,000 tons, speed 30 knots, fuel capacity 20 years, Defense systems:
4 missile systems and 12 different radar systems, aircraft 90 jets, helicopters and
planes, including F/A 18s.... age ----> brand new

R05 Invincible 22,000 tons, speed 28 knots, fuel capacity range 7,000 miles, Defense
systems: 2 world war II 20 mm cannons, 3 phalanx close support weapons, aircraft 18
harriers and 4 helicopters, age ----> launched in 1977, 34 years old.

So, in short, the Reagan is bigger, thus tougher. It can cruise for almost as long as
Invincible is alive, it can fire at targets miles away. It has multiple radar systems for
detecting air and ground, including aircraft to project power. It carries more aircraft
and more lethal, both in air to air and ground attack. While you brought the subject up,
during the Falklands war the Harriers on it were the actually only sea harriers the UK had
left and suffered many mechanical failures. Both RN carriers struggled to put enough
planes in the air to support operations. They didn't have enough helicopters to support
land operations and forced the commandos to walk long distances through mountains and
limited the ground forces rapid strike capability. Finally, they nearly RAN OUT OF GAS.
With no refueling points, the Royal Navy nearly had to leave the ground force as they
almost ran out of fuel. Also, the big thing difference is the lack of the defenses. Your
pick has only WWII and close support weapons. Other ships with those types of weapons and
lost in that war: HMS Sheffield, HMS Ardent, HMS Antelope, HMS Coventy, the cargo ship
Atlantic Conveyor (being protected by ships with those weapons systems) and two others
damaged. So, in short, the ships that had even better defense systems than Invincible,
were still sunk, by single planes, so its a good thing that she wasn't attacked.

Here's a little comparison of two sister ships side by side:

Eloquent, sparximus. Simply eloquent.

But speaking as someone who (A) installed said gay-ass Tomahawks on the USS Wisconsin
during her refit and (B) sailed on said USS Wisconsin during her last combat deployment, I
must point out that your view doesn't hold up to the realities of modern naval combat.

The 3rd generation Tomahawks can hit anything that isn't buried 40 feet in the ground.
(For THAT... we have other missiles.) The 16" gun was the king of it's day, but it's role
is limited now because of it's maximum operable range and extreme cost of operation. The
iowas have been rightly retired as specialists whose operating costs cannot now be
justified, and sad to say, I doubt we'll see them come to life again.

The harrier is a dated aircraft. The propulsion system for it's VTOL has also caused a
number of accidents/crashes in the past. Yet another reason why Lockheed went
with a different mechanism when designing and building the F-35

"and im not biased, the Royal Navy is simply quality. best trained, best marines, best
pilots, best sailors etc "

--- Funny. The second part of that statement seems to contradict your opening
stance about not being biased.
