Finally we won our 19th crown. We have overtaken Liverpool. We are now the best
team in England, and soon the world when we overtake Real Madrid 9 European titles.

What are you thoughts and comments about the Red Devils dominance in England and
as a global brand throughout the world? Please (if you want) state which club do you
support and which country are you from. Thank you.

*when i look at these guys all i see is super models in football strips.*

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't consider Dirk Kuyt (AKA Sloth from the Goonies), Wayne Rooney,
Joleon Lescott or Jimmy Bullard supermodels Oo'

@masc..

well yea your right, it wasnt such a great team. but its not because of the skill of the
players but more so of their attitudes towards the game.. they are no longer playing the
game because they enjoy it and love the sport, they are playing it because it pays well
and it also gives them a very attractive image amongst the population.

appearing on the front cover of magazines stareing in television comercials. always in the
newspapers for scandels. its not a sport no more. its a farce. there not footballers, they
aint sportsmen. they are just celebrities and they know they are.

football used to be a fantastic sport but for so many diffrent reasons than why its
concidered a fantastic sport today. these guys never used to earn the kind of money they
earn today. infact they earn so much today is just rediculous.

and on top of there excessive wages they get paid from all the comercials and adds they
do, or films they star in. hell some of them have even written songs lol.

when i look at these guys all i see is super models in football strips.

Technically you would have to beat Real Madrids domestic championships to be considered
the best in the world (31 domestic titles) and to be honest, number of titles is not what
you should go by to be considered the best in the world. Barcelona are by far the best in
the world at the moment. Liverpool were one of the best during the Bob Paisley days and
United were getting close during the 90's.

*There's an unsung hero that led to the Red Devils' dominance that not many know
of, a certain Mark Robins. For it was he who scored the winning goal in a vital FA Cup
game in 1990. Had they not won that particular game, Alex Ferguson would
probably have been sacked.*

Very VERY true, yet United fans always seem to forget this as 99% of the fans were the
ones calling for his removal.

*cmon bro... we all know that you guys were lucky on that day... AC Milan lost it more
then Liverpool won it.*

Man Utd vs Bayern Munich?
Man Utd vs Chelsea?

Barcelona dominated the game after the first 10 minutes. Fergie got his tactics all wrong
in that he allowed Barcelona to play and every United player stood off their players. IMO if
United played something similar to how Stoke City play, they might have had a chance but
standing off Barcelona with such high calibre players is the worst tactic you could
possibly use.

I will be very intrigued as to how United do once Fergie retires. that will be a bad day
for United as the players that he will leave will show how dependant they are/were on him
and I don't really think many United fans realize this either.

Regarding Chicarito, i dont think he could be blamed for anything. Talking about his
contribution, i dont think there was anything more that he could have done on that
day... Personally i think he did very well. He is a player that relies on services from
the wings and midfiled, naturaly since he is a pure box to box striker.

On that day, Giggs and Rooney had to track back so deep just to cover the Barca's
trio... Valencia was ball watching and man handling the whole day, not his fault, Rio
and Vidic was just throwing long balls into the abyss and not actually trying to pass
their way out.

In the case of tactically putting Chica in the game, i dont see why not... Lets see our
other options... Berbatov - he doesnt run after the ball much. He is a highly technical
and intelligent player but only when the ball is on his feet. In this kinda game, where
possession is minimal, you need players who do some chasing.

Second option is Owen. A very good player in sniffing opportunities around the 18
yard box. Owen is very much like Chica but seriosuly on form wise no where close to
the latter.

Even if we when with 4-5-1, the only thing that would have changed is the fact that
we wouldnt even have scored the solitary goal.

We were against a very good team. They were truly at a class of their own.
Unbeatable? Certainly not. But on their day, they are certainly unplayable.

Transfer news wise, I'm getting pretty sick of the whole Carlos Tevez saga year
after year.

He's just like a spoilt teenage girl, throwing a tantrum wanting one thing one day,
and another thing tomorrow, and then back to the original thing the day after that.

I mean, FFS, just go piss off back to Argentina and spare us your yearly charades.
I'd be a very happy person if I can pick up the papers one morning and don't have to
see his ugly muck on it.

-----------------------------------------------------

As for football style, I take the pragmatist side, not the purist.

I don't care how my team does it, ugly or otherwise, as long as they beat their
opponents. Even if it's like Bolton or Stoke with continuous, hoofed long balls, it's
perfectly fine.

For I'd rather have my team play ugly like Bolton and win trophies, than play
beautiful football and end up with nothing like Arsenal.

Substance over style for me, anyday. It doesn't matter how pretty or ugly things
are, all I care about is the end result.

Joseph, Ferguson is one of the last of the "old style" english managers that pretty much
get everyone to do their jobs for them.

I'd say for a big man manager, he got it all wrong by putting Hernandez in such a big
stage. Clearly he was made to look small.

Mourinho's tactics against Barcelona have been proven to work, even if sitting back
and playing counter attack with long balls is not easy on the eyes of the public. You
are playing the finals of the Champions Cup, its not a contest on who plays the more
beautiful football. There were a couple of instances where they employed these
tactics and it caused some problems (Valdez had to go to the edge of the box to
punch a ball out and Chicharito was called offsides while going clean through). I
dont know if Ferguson thought his tactics were working during the first 10 minutes
of the match, but it has been a recurrent theme with Barcelona to start slowly in UCL
matches. But once they get their rythm going and Xavi gets the ball... gl getting it
back.

I'll disagree. Ferguson(or whoever advises him) are very aware tactically.

Subtle things like putting Fletcher/Valencia against Ashley Cole and Park against Pirlo.
The great thing about United's squad is that they are so diverse and can play in so
many ways.

But he does have a habit of getting it wrong at crucial times. Last year, while leading 1-
0 against Bayern in Germany, he unexplicably removes Carrick and puts Berbatov and
they go on to concede 2 goals straight down the middle, eventually loosing the tie,
even if their energetic pressing tactics in the 2nd game worked brilliantly(instead of
Neville, Scholes and Giggs; Nani, Gibson and Rafael).

And of course this year being rather naive against Barcelona.

I have my issues with Arsenal's tactics they aren't perfect, and personally I think our
game is one dimensional.

Man Utd have traditionally been adaptable, and have played fairly good football. Not as
solid as Mourinho's Chelsea, but were more offensive.

I still maintain that Ferguson, as a coach, is average at best. He is a very good man
manager, and obviously vastly experienced. He needs a good assistant coach behind
him to actually work on the coaching. I also think, tactically, he isn't up to scratch; He
got it wrong in a big way against Barca. That said, not much anyone could do against
that team!
