Finally we won our 19th crown. We have overtaken Liverpool. We are now the best
team in England, and soon the world when we overtake Real Madrid 9 European titles.

What are you thoughts and comments about the Red Devils dominance in England and
as a global brand throughout the world? Please (if you want) state which club do you
support and which country are you from. Thank you.

Soccer - Truly a global game.

Every inch of success that Manchester United achieved today, regardless of how we
do it, are dedicated to those great souls that perished during the Munich Disaster.
We will always remember all of you.

It wasn't a vintage ManU team this season but nonetheless look how much we have
achieved this season... EPL title, CL finalist and FA Cup semi finalists.

Its not the money nor history that make us great today, is the attitude of every one
attached to the club. From 'The Boss' right down to the youth academy. You never
see us give up, walk around the pitch gazing at the sky or put our hands up and cry.
We always fight and never accept defeat, not even a draw. We are heartbroken
when we leave Anfield, Highbury, Stamford Bridge, or any other stadiums in the
world with just a draw.

Our motto is to win and win only. Regardless of the players ability, quality or
experience; once they wear the ManU jersey they are automatically woven in our
fabric and mentality of playing football - that is to Attack, Attack and Attack.

Old Trafford is the only stadium in the world i have seen where the players are
expected to entertain the crowd. Well i don't blame them. That is how high the
standard that we have set. If we go a season without a single trophy, we don't
blame everything else in the world, we congratulate the winners and make sure the
next year we are the ones shaking the champagne bottles.

A big part of this is truly because of Sir Alex Ferguson. In SAF we trust.

There will be a day when all the success runs out, but even then i will cry when ManU
lose, and also cry when they win.

One thing i know for sure is when we go down, we will go down as the Kings Of
England.

Until next time, lets get that 20th title next season...!!! Red Devils Rule...!!!

@adamai

Those were good times for you I suppose, with the European Cup semi and several
league titles won.

I'm not that old actually, but I do enjoy studying clubs' histories and knowing their
roots as well as significance to the cities they're based in. I believe that's what
football is all about, and not just about who's the best player, most popular etc.

Which brings me to my biggest lament about the modern game.

Gone are the days when a small team could actually win the league title. The
Huddersfields, Prestons, Ipswichs and Nottingham Forests. Today, it's all about
money.

If something isn't done about this soon, I fear I might never see a club other than
the big five win the EPL ever again in my lifetime.

Fans contribute to the vicious cycle. Due to all the hype in the media, new fans
naturally pledge allegiance to the big teams, which indirectly contribute to increasing
their revenues through merchandising, TV rights, sponsorship, etc. The rich get
richer, and the poor remain the same, widening the gap.

Football and the people who follow it nowadays has become very shallow and
superficial. It's all about glamour, popularity, fame and joining the bandwagon.

Sure, these fans can tell you who's a good player, what kind of skills they
performed, or how well they played in a game. But apart from that, what do they
know?

Away from England, probably 8 out of 10 Man Utd fans don't even know about the
Munich air disaster, much less that their club started life as Newton Heath.

I fully agree with you. It is indeed a pile of rubbish.

Man Utd; The most consistent of a poor top 4 this year.

Arsenal should have run away with it, it was there's to throw away, which they did
spectacularly.

Some of the stats regarding "what if's" are pretty interesting. Opta posted a league
table of what would have happened if each shot that hit the crossbar/post went in;
West Ham would have been mid table, and Arsenal would have been top.

I really should continue to do my coaching badges (took time out of it to go to Uni).
Because, quite honestly, some of the managers are shockingly bad nowadays.

@Masc

Completely agree with regards to the Media. With the right tactics/manager/attitude
and with a bit of luck regarding form, England could win the world cup. Just like
another 10 or so teams could. Just some need less luck than England ;)

One thing I really was disgusted with was both sides of El-Classico. Absolutely
disgusting. Its a pity Barca couldn't have taken their CL Final attitude into the Semi's
too...

Sinder, it may not be the most accurate and there are some undisclosed in there but over
all it isn't a bad site from my memory. It seems to be done from publicly published
figures and there are always issues with prices with secondary clauses but have a look.

sindher, cant see aguero coming to liverpool, or cole going to athletico

if anything, aguero's going to chelsea. neymar too.

cole should go to one of the newly promoted sides, QPR maybe on loan (?) to get
some 1st team football

@Kilaenots

Where have you got your figures from? From 1990 till 2010, the spending of Liverpool FC
and Manchester United has been ?05.3m and ?02.6m respectively.

You have to understand that Man United is ?.1 BILLION in debt. Liverpools debt got paid
off completely and huge funds were opened up for us. I can't wait for the day when ManU
have no money left to spend.

Thats in part because of the huge hype the british media generates. No offense, but
the English WC squad was nothing special, there were 5-8 better teams in the
tournament. They failed to take advantage of the easy group they were drawn into
and as result had to face Germany in the round of 16. (a far better team)

@ foxfire Man Untd are not like the Yankees at all. Most of their popularity/hatred
comes from recent success, but I dare say the most hated club in England is still
Liverpool. As far as most hated in the world, its probably Real Madrid.

hey foxfire! your absolutely right. the us did tie with england in the world cup.. but
england had there arses tore out when then got home for playing so piss poor.

that was without a doubt the worst display of football an england sqaud has ever
displayed.. we should have atleast made it to the qaurter finals like we always do.

our footballers today are more concerned with how their hair looks on tv rather than
playing the game we supporters expect from them.

now its all about looking pretty and poseing on tv. footballers today are a bunch of
puffs. and the england performance in the last worldcup just proved it. they couldnt be
bothered to give it there all because they are already rich and made in life.

they no longer recognise what they represent.

*le sigh*

Fox, you're giving Americans like me a bad name- Green tied that game for us, not Dempsey.
As far as us "not playing the game", you should keep an eye on your TV this Saturday, as
you might be surprised what you see.

Apparently Berbatov is staying (according to Fox Soccer, at least), but I can't really see
why; he got snubbed for the CL final, and barring a Hernandez/Rooney injury, he would see
far more playing time at a club that would be much happier to have him if he went elsewhere.

cheers emma. i used to play in the ramarena as a kid takeing penalties against peter
shilton ;) and i used to go to weekend matches at the baseball ground for the juniors
too.. that is until they pulled it down and move there opperation to pridepark.

also the derby county sqaud of the 1960's used to go to my grandparents house as they had
close ties with my grand father. cool eh :). he wasnt a footballer, he just happened to be
mates with a number of the squad..

these where the days when derby county players where from derby. rather than from italy
and spain like they are today.

football today is just a pile of rubbish compaired to how it used to be.
