  • Reaching accuracy and reload caps at same time?

Hi all,

I know the subject might sound weird and misleading but hear me out first.

I am aware of the caps that exists for accuracy and reload. Accuracy is something like 4706*lvl of sailor+1000000. There isnt a formula for reload but I heard people say it's at 2 million true ability?

Now I have pair lvl 88 yellow gunners boosted. For one of my sailors I got 100 vet and maxed expert with 1 rookie. The other I reduced the ability values to just a little above the accuracy cap: 130 vets (from burning experts), 6 experts and the rest about 560 rookies. For sailor 2 my true ability is about 100k above the accuracy cap and I obtain perfect accuracy with the 1st set KM 15". Sailor 1's true ability is about double of the cap ability and the accuracy is slightly worse than sailor 2. Now I heard people say you only need to have true ability slightly above the cap to reach best performance and I see that is true. But that solves the problem for me in terms of accuracy but not reload.

Since the reload cap is 2 million and yellow gunners have equal acc and rel ability it is not possible to stay at optimum performance for both acc and rel. As the optimum true ability for acc is 1.44m for my sailors and the optimum true ability for reload is slightly above 2 mil. So I have to either have a balanced sailor or have a sailor that can block but not reload as fast or reload faster but not as good accuracy.

Basically my questions is, what should my true ability be as to get the best performance out of my sailors for both acc and rel? And for KM, which attribute should I value more? Oh by the way my gunners are capable of over 2 mil true ability if full crewed, so reaching the reload cap is not a problem.

You answered the question yourself. As you said, the accuracy cap increases with level, but the reload cap is fixed. So the necessary TA to get both is to hit the reload cap and make sure you have the acc cap for your level.

If you want to optimise both at the same time you can use simultaneous equations to figure out what ability is required at each level to do that (regression modelling would be even better).

But we all fell asleep in that part of maths class, so my recommendation is to get you gunners as high level as possible.

I hope someone can post a better answer, it was a good question.

The answer is that someone made that shit up to sell his crappy gunners.
