So I have been looking around a lot and can't find exact answers for my questions. I can't tell if it is due to too much difference in opinion or just hard to find information.

1. First, other than pilots, what support crew should I have? A seaman to aid my pilots? A restore for the extra SD? A repair for when I take damage? An engineer since I'm wanting to go SN (I know I could have posted this in the SN forum, but it seems a lot less active over there. Also, this isn't necessarily SN specif)? Which are most useful and why?

2. For my pilots, would I be better off getting elite sailors or rolling then boosting sailors (11/11, 11/12, or 12/11's)? I don't want to get elites and boost them.

For my own KM CV crew,
i get 8 fts, 4 dbs, 2 tbs, 1 medic. Thats all
I am not supposed to be hitted, so i dont place any engy or repair on it.

Medic is wasting space on ur ship. There is no need to have one anymore.
If u want to take a support sailor then i suggest to use an engy. Seaman is a typical question but i dont prefer them other ppl say u need one.
Personal Choice.
My opinion is that a restorer is also a waste.
I use Gunners for HH.

FP 12/11 if u dont want to get elite.

There is no such thing as a two stat pilot.  Aircraft for scout, bomber for TB/DB, fighter for fighters.  Don't be ignorant like so many people who insist on two stat pilots.  Example for fighter: 12 air 11 fighter < 7 air 12 fighter.  If it mattered, elites would be sold with 11 in air instead of 9.

If you want to look for secondary stats on pilots, make it repair and restore.

I am also curious I thought the medic was brought back, doesnt this sailor help with less crew death, or has the changed again?

Pilots haven't been loosing veterans from being shot down for a few years now, they only loose rookies or experts.
Why would you care if more rookies or experts die in flight? Getting them back is 1 right click or playing a few games.

So why would you have a sailor on board that only really helps on the very rare occasion that you  loose veterans when someone is shooting/bombing/torping your ship. Deaths you'd disconnect for anyway.

I'd rather have a sailor on board whose main skill is usefull.

My HA suggestion setup:

12 sailors: x1 BO, x6 +12 or elite fighters, x2 +12 scouts (Leveled to 120), x3 seamen elite pot or elite fighter.

Due to the current EXP mechanics, you are punished EXP wise if you run a mixed CV setup,

Either run x6 fighters x2 scouts or x6 bombers (these can be a mix of TB and DB) and x2 scouts (Scout for targets/team to prevent being yelled at)

Personally I use the upper, I use 120 scouts to, well, scout the enemy team and fighters to kill enemy scouts and fighters that I can kill.
I also rotate fighters out when AA looks like I can't keep just my scout out there.

Note, MEDICS still work, but vet death was removed causing them to be less effective  since you can earn back experts lost the next battle 99% of the time.

@ Mako089, he probably started playing before the CV ability patch and isn't aware of the changes. That patch was only months ago. Not years yet so expect that for awhile until the players who rarely read the forum (Or patch notes for that matter) find out.

The pilot ability patch was at the very least more than 18 months ago.
SN came out after it iirc.

As for Seaman for a FW CV, you want high fighter seaman, high pot only helps potential users. As for using 3 seaman, I guess at best  the 3rd elite fighter seaman would give a 2% boost to fighter ability at lvl 120. A 3rd Boosted 12 fighter seaman for a nation that doesn't have a fighter nation bonus gives a whopping 1% boost at 120.

If you can't live without squeezing every last bit of ability out of your FP's I guess you could use a 3rd seaman, but I'd think hard about using an engineer instead.

Vets cant be killed by shooting down planes, experts are incredibly cheap, rookies take one mouse click and a few points and youre full. They had a patch to make pilots lose no vets through being shot down awhile back, last year at least.

@OP
For support, youll want a seaman if you can find an extra good fighter-base sailor. BVE him last though, he only adds a small amount of ability compared to what the fighters already have but still worth it. A rep and an engy are never bad options either, more OH time and better repair, who could ask for more. Although odds are, if youre getting shot youre dead anyways. Useful for when you get bombed though :)
