I took a java programming course in highschool....got a 4 on the AB level AP test. Absolutely hated Java, and have never done it since!

Yeah java is totally a pain - much worse than JavaScript or VB. My only suggestion is to put your head down and power through it, all it can do is help. Anyhow you should start picking it up rather quickly and even if you don't remember evrything it's always good to have that little bit of extra knowledge (even if it's knowing what you CAN'T do with that particular language).

i know what you feel... i tried learning on making an android app with java 4 months ago and i gave up java =.= really hard... C/C++ is much easier 

Im sure it's like any language.. I am highly proficient with vb and took both classes of it in college as well as C#. Java is very close to C# which makes it that much more difficult for me. I just can't seem to grasp it like I have vb. Im slowly getting the hang of it but being slow about it is whats causing my head ache. I have a solid app for the play store that I have to get ground out one way or another.. Lols if I could write it in vb then port it to java I would slam through it... Oh wells never hurts to learn the hard way..
