5 Man teams multiple different ship set ups. You make a team of five people and your allways on the same team. And your team wins/ losses are kept under the team name. Teams can enter a competition paying game credits where 1st place gets xx% 2nd gets xx% and 3rd. 
Maybe one example of ship configs would be, 1cv, 2BB, 1CL, 1 SS per team. Some compatetions maybe make everyone on the same team use same nation ships. And the other team uses a differnt nation. Also maybe even axis vs allies teams.
