  • Leone Class to use historical twin 4.7inch guns

Ive narrowed this thread down to the only class people have payed attention to, the Leone DD1.

DD1 Leone has 4x55 R Mounts, and 2X35 T mounts. the real life Leone class carried 4x2 4.7inch guns. Thats not possible ingame.

Edit: I suggest the 4.7"/27 OTO 1924 turret space requirement be changed from 61 to 50 so it can be mounted on the Leone as per historial fact.

Thats the ONLY change I suggest for the Leone.

Beside all data that your exposed very well, leone can mount a guns with the range, DMG and accuracy of a CA, able to sink including a BB during a blitz battle.
it´s OP in every way, like Romani CL

After posting this I had an alternative idea related the the DD1 Leone.

Increasing the Rmounts from 55 to 65 WOULD allow the twin 4.7inch guns to be mounts, but it would also allow 7.5nch guns to be mounted. That would seem OverPowered, yes.

the real problem is that the twin 4.7inch guns have just too much space. They take 60-63 space+ammunition. So Reducing the space taken by one or more Twin 4.7inch guns would help.

4.7"/27 OTO 1924 being changed from 61 to 50 would allow them(and 2 binds of ammunition) to be mounted on the DD1 Leone.

or the 4.7"/50 Model 1936 would be changed from 63 to 50space and have a higher level requirement.

The twin 4.7inch weapons have reduced accuracy and range over the single 4.7, 5.9, and 6.0inch guns. They just fire more shells.

Buff the Leone?

The Leone is not underpowered. What Mezak said about it is very true. There is one big thing about the Leone: it is tiny. Most of the Italian DD's are tiny. I'd take a level 40 Leone over a level 40 DDX, that's for sure. Those things with a decent crew can park themselves at the edge of your aiming lines to where you can hardly hit them and come up and hammer you with a steady stream of six inch fire. They can indeed own blitzkriegs in the right hands and with an actual crew.

Your argument is Invalid. I havent suggested the Leone get smaller or mount more 6inch guns.

Under your logic anything smaller or better ranged than anything else is overpowered, regardless of its mountings, speed, or any other factors.

For its class, Leone far more overpowered than other DD1 class.

Yes and yes...

4 x 6inch singles in blitz for me = Up to 70K ~ averaging 35-40K.  It doesn't need any sort of buff.  The Italian dd ship tree feels like it is backwards though with seemingly the 2 most powerful ships availble early.  In the end even with only 2 single 6 inch guns you should be able to do at least 20k.

I'm not sure why you really want smaller calibre guns x 2.  It seems to fall under the category of new players who prefer guns with more shells, reload, and less range Over less accurate but greater damage and more range.

Ships I use for example DDX with 7s, NDDM1 with 6s, FFX with 6s, Leone/Navi with 6s ~ I have a hit rate of about 30%.  That means I'm lucky if half of my 4-5 shells actually hits a ship.  To most blitz players that is frustrating and not worthwhile.  The fact is, that's how NF is played successfully - attacking from afar using the highest calibre weapon available to the ship.  Try watching a good player using 7inch as opposed to another with dual 5s.  At first it might seem like the dual 5s are great.  In the end the Dual 5 player will be sunk and the one with 7s will be chugging along chipping away at everything.

As for the engine/speed - yes it's weak and it loses OH sooner than any other nation by a large margain.  Also it feels like the ship is structurally weaker.  But those are the trade offs for having the most powerful guns.  With most gun range and power the advice is easy - don't get hit.

Leone is not the problem itself, it´s the kind of guns that can mount on it.
Thats the point to solve. I´m not talking about delete this or that gun, instead of that reload time must increase in orther to balance firepower, acc y damage to an averale level.
I have a few battles with this leone´s setup, using CL2 of other nation oftenly leone outranges most CLs.
There is the problem IMHO.

My advice...

Adjust the gun size and weight so that Leone can't mount 6' caliber. Or lower R mount space on Leone. For compensation make the duals 4.7 aviable for it.

Its clear that you guys are obssessed about  the Leone. Youre totally ignoring the actual suggestion and twisted the context to "make the Leone better" which this IS NOT.

Who has mentioned that the suggestion for it is SPECIFICALLY to mount the historical fact guns, the twin 4.7inch?

Youre ignoring that I made no suggestions to its speed, armor, range, hull points, damage, etc.

I altered my original suggestion more than a day ago so it wouldnt be able to mount the 7.5inch guns and still be able to mount the twin 4.7inch guns.

================================================

as for nerfing the 6inch, that shouldnt happen. the italia ships are atypical in that several fo their ships are pre-world war 1. the BB1 and BB2 are dependent not on their primary guns, but on the single 6inch secondary guns. Nerfing their guns isnt just a troll-bash to the Leone, but nerfing much of the Italian Navy tech tree.
