i really think your supports is not ready for your yamato... try leveling them in B65 or Nagato until your support are on 80+ or better

IJN is difficult because we do not have a second BB line. So our supports lag behind. I suggest raising another BO for TW, and raise your supports on that while you can.

Eventually they will catch up to your BB BO.

I successfully used the EBB3 which gave a bigger penalty to my BO xp wise than to my support to have them catch back a bit.

Doing so with a B65 or Fuso could be quite good.

If your gunner are slightly ahead, you will have an easier time with yammy's lower 90s spread being skipped in part.

But I agree, lvl 75 is just too low, and the xp difference will rift even more due to your support slowly lagging even more behind due to the xp penalty.

I'd hold off on using Yamato until your support has reached at least lvl 85. Even at that level it might still be a painfull experience.
Stick your crew on a B65 with an engineer as BO if you don't want your BO to lvl,or go back to Fuso/Nagato if you don't mind more xp on your BO. You might even want to get a 2nd BO

even if you got awesome gunners, you'll be totally food without proper support. You won't have the SD, the OH and the reps to be able to keep up with other BB4.

You didnt mention AA gunners. I hope you got a pair properly classed? (by properly classed I mean kept as armory till lvl 62 + ideally 80+, then classed directly as chief DP)

As Boom, Aingeal and Danita have mentioned, ditch your Yam. First of all, I am guessing you probably do not even have 900 SD on your Yam, which is already a bane to any BB4. Second, assuming you do have 900 SD, your supports (what are they?) will probably not bring your Yam to 37 OH. Without at least 37 OH, you will not be able to play to Yam's gun advantage as it was meant, because you can easily be chased down, while having practically no chasing power.

Also, follow Aingeal's advice and get arms sailors and level them up at least to 63. Try to wait off on classing until as late as you can. I personally used 10/12 base arms sailors and classed them at 89. AA gunners are a necessity for IJN players because IJN supports have very terrible growth stats and Yam/SY are easily one of the easiest ships to land shells or bombs on due to their size. AA gunners will at least be a good defense against incoming planes, as well as an extra source of XP.

General rule of thumb I follow for crew:

AA gunners > Supports > gunners > BO

Anytime I start a new crew I raise of pair of AA gunners to 60+. Roll 2 BOs, and all neccessary supports. Using the 60+ AA gunners I start on one BO and one group of supports (including 2 more gunners). After reaching a certain point (has tended to be around high CA/BB1 level, I start the second BO preferably using the new gunners. At this point I start working my way up through the BBs, generally one tier on each BO before going to the next. If supports are starting to struggle, I move to another high level nation crew and shore up. Often times end up going back to AA boats for a bit to expert (and lesser degree) level supports/crew.

Jist of it being that Supports are crucial for any ship, much more so than the BO level and to a lesser degree more than gunners (by late stage BB 4+ at level gunners - 2 levels ahead at bb4 level - can be competitive abliet not great)

I have longed for the missing link in the IJN bb line, Fuso a lot of fun, but not much to write home about Nagato can be a surprise,, or was sometime ago,.I have seen good games played using the Nagato,. but man lately, mn bb5,, sn bb4/5 subs/.. I have always wanted larger rooms, . be great to not be shooting at each other with in 15 seconds,,. adds tension, and makes the sides cooperate, I>e> dds acting as real pickets for larger craft,. Cv players, need to think,, , no pun intended, about when and what to launch instead of spamming. so game starts, alpha is slowly advancing,, , awful quiet,,. for a coiple minutes,, maybe subs can be auto positioned, who knows where,. LARGER rooms pls. oh wait whats this about a Yamato,,. if you can get a fus, there a blast, i like the dual 14s, with good gunners the reload is awesome, and have got my share of h44s with like 60 shells,. But ya,, fuso nagato,, yamato,, hmmm theres something missing, maybe Nf can look at including some of the later battle cruiser designs, the IJn had fooled with, . also u need 11 engineers to make a yamato move lol,.and i would suggesst having two scouts ,, that can be an advantage.
