    08. 01. 2011 02:49

Beechy75
G'day folks, just a troubled aussie that would to play one game that isn't a slideshow. I know I'm to expect a higher ping playing
from Australia but I get constant 5-15 second lag spikes which is becoming unplayable.

Spec: Win7 32bit
  Intel E6850 @ 3.0ghz
  GTX 275
  4g ram
game installed on dedicated game hdd.<--is this a problem?

I've tried a many of the listed suggestions.

edit: forgot to mention that another pc is running on same connection playing that silly world of tanks game.

Nothing on the pathping that looks bad and nothing that should be causing the game to lag

Doodoohead
Hp pavillion dual core 1.9ghz 2 gb ram
120 gb hd 14 gigs used
xpprosp4 32 bit
os was clean installed 3 months ago,
nf was clean installed last patch

havin massive lag spike issues, updater takin forever to communicate with the server, and file check usualy takes a while before it will let me log in. these problems havent been really consistant till today, ive already reset all my hardware, and ive defragged my drive.

So I ran a tracert: (2 of them).

I've tried the compatibility mode but after program launch a window pops up saying "program running in compatibility mode . program will be closed". Is there a way past this?

edit: with dep on it skips that window........My hat off to you sir, that solution works perfectly. It took a data corrupt and a full reinstall but it now plays smooth.

This problem continues to persist no matter what I do. Every solution I've tried has only ever worked for a couple hours and then its back to slideshow hell. At this point a full reinstall is the only solution that gives me about an hour of reasonably smooth game play an then its back to crap again. I'm also crashing alot more than usual so thats another problem to deal with. Here's the navyfield.rpt and anhrpt to look over.

Have you tried the compatibility settings as noted above?

I've tried all solutions/compatibility and it always ends the same. The problem simply returns after a few hours playing.

I think I should explain the problem again. When in game, its just the game action that continuously freezes and stutters. The mouse pointer still moves perfectly fine and the game counter at the top right of screen continues to count down. The game also seems to have a hard time when there lots of action on screen ie: aa, planes etc. and that when I get freezes that last upto 30 seconds.

But did you try the one as posted by chivalry

Yes I have tried every solution listed in this technical support forum. I have also posted in chivalry's thread and from what I understand even he is still having problems. Chivalry's solution is temperary at best and no longer works for me.

My only last resort is to get my 7 year old XP rig up running just to see if this is solely a win 7 issue. My verion is the upgrade from vista not the full Win 7 install I'm wondering if that could be an issue. I think a poll is needed to work which windows version is having the most problems.

Well setting the compatibility mode as Chivalry stated has solved all my join room and crash issues
and in fact since I set it that way to test it I have not crashed once.
I was stable before but was getting the join freeze randomly

press F10 in game and turn off the rediculous effects.. this game works like a giant egg timer. it only lets so much sand through the funnel at a time.. so if your trying to force lots of sand through the tiny funnel only small amounts of sand will trickle through meaning you wont get the full deal..

the only solution is to reduce the amount of sand going through the funnel on the egg timer. to do this turn off all the stupid effects and sounds..

here are a few examples muzzle flash dmg smoke. aaw effects. exapanded sound..

i turned all the effects off and guess what!!! my lag has virtually gone away..

how ever the crashing is something i cannot fix. it has nothing to do with egg timers so you'll have to keep bitching at sde about that!

also i run a 8 year old xp rig :) so its not your os !! its the actual game and its network provider.

would some one from the sde team please take some time to explain in detail to these young men how the servers communicate with the clients please. so they can have a better understanding of how things are working..

they will soon discover its not their end :)

oh did i mention its the same exact problem on my not so old rig too.. guess i didnt. i had to disable most of the visual effects to stop the lag.. there is still some but my screen doesnt lock up anymore or freeze.. the game crashes constantly on both my machines.. its not os or system specs. its the game!

im sure sde are working very hard to solve all our problems too :)
