I was just considering returning to NF again, but I first wanted to check if it still installed that rootkit.

What's the news?

If you are concerned about HS, install VMware Player, create a virtual machine and play NF in that. Do not use it for anything else and you wont have to worry. Unless you specify processes inside VM do not have access to the host system.

just do a search on VMware or Virtual Box (both are freeware) on this forum. It's simple enough even this moron figured it out.

However since then I have turned it off and now play NF in the base OS.

Thanks RadCo; but I already know about VM and always played NF in a VM anyway. The problem is that NF with HS always crashes on start in the VM. (It started with that update.)


EDIT: Besides, with this news (http://fm.en.kupaisky.com/Community/Forum/View.aspx?num=2745&category=C01) I don't think NF will last much longer anyway.

It may be classified as a rootkit by some, but its intent is not to "steal mah bank accountz omgzz"

People created a bunch of drama over nothing.

In the mean time, feel free to go play another MMO. Oops wait, 90% of those have something similar to HS. Gameguard for example.
