I've actually heard the opposite, that fighters cap and bombers don't:

Bomber stat only affects bomber ability.
Fighter stat only affects fighter ability.
Aircraft stat only affects scout ability.

I think you're in the wrong thread. This one is about ability caps, not which stats do what.

There seems to be a cap, most fighters hit it at around lv110, maybe slightly earlier if they are elites and supervetted.

Fighter Cap abbility Number is truly unknow however best guess is 95-110 based on what nation and how many vets you have on your sailor you can hit it a bit sooner IF EBVE Fighters....
Also i have heard something like that Bombers does not have a cap but Yet to prove it my best guess is yes since i have high level Bombers and after Vetting them again they seem to be better v FP
