hello everyone!

i was wondering if there is a guide to specify each type of FCS and what does it do? and where is it best to be used especilly the finder type?

Auto = for noobs who cant aim and want bad xp (auto = bad xp)
Aim = best FCS for all
Finder = More search range, for CV's whiteout guns.

It sounds like auto is for you, rick.

Auto is auto. Enough said. Basic FCS that does a poor job at aiming for you, mainly for new players for the first few levels.

Auto is extremely limitating in the accuracy it gives (its going to shoot around the point you aimed, but maybe not exactly on it) and the fact it will never cross guidelines to concentrate fire. The spread is also inferior to Aiming FCS.

An XP penalty is associated to it.

As said, only used typically on low level ships captained by new players that are getting used to the game mechanics. No DD3 and over have in my mind a reason to use this, other than lazyness.

---------------------------------------

Aiming is the FCS used by any gunship. Gives the best spread out of the three. Manual controls. Used on any ship with guns really, DD1 through BB6.

---------------------------------------

Finder is the FCS giving long guidelines and longer torp spotting range. SS FCS are finders. The downside is the worse gun spread of the 3. (yes even automatic) Manual controls.

Mainly used on CVs, TW, and ASW (DC) ships, that are using an armament with no spread values (literally planes and torps)

Not true when it comes to CA auto fcs 2, with PBB, and AWed BBs with blockshooting gun.
CA auto fcs 2 costs only 2% lower accuracy than BB aiming fcs, which almost equal to zero.

Auto fcs is a good optional choice too when your fcs line length is not enough

When it comes to DDs and CLs, auto fcs wins completely against manuals,

But be careful, there are great number of ppl ranting about auto fcs, without knowledge.
And if you know maneuvering BBs enough, 150k attack is sure with auto fcs BB2s, BB3s and PBBs.

But using auto in BB4,5s aren`t recommended, because of this.

o.O

Most of the CLs out there have more space between their R-mounts than the entire beam length of DDs and FFs, which means with auto your shells are about twice as likely to miss. Not to mention that the best XP for a CL, by which I mean GB AA, is impossible with auto FCS because you can't control your angles.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I always put rear guns off. No need at all.
Manual fcs users can`t follow DD/CLs going around at max speed.
In the same time auto fcs users shoot continuous fire, while changing angles (you need not re-push space bar after change angle).

Cruising at half firepower for laziness and being unable to correctly use the aiming FCS -> You're doing it right!

Playing NF -> You are doing it so very wrong.

Stop trying to bring people down to your level, your tips are about the worst thing a new players can listen too.

I started using aiming almost immediately when I started playing this game. I got very used to manual and now it is just second nature, I don't even notice I'm using it.

I do know that when I use auto (when I start a new line and forget to change the fcs on the frigate) it reaaaalllllly ticks me off. IT is so wildly useless, I don't see how people can use it at all. It pretty much shoots in the general direction of your click and makes a mossberg 500 persuader look like it has good spread with buckshot at 50 yards....
