Situation:

Want to have Yamato.
1 Lvl 43 BO on Mogami
2 Arm Lvl 45 Boosted, Elite, no Vets yet, will wait till lvl 80 ish then DP
2 Gunner Lvl 40 Boosted, Elite, no Vets Yet.
3 Lvl70 Engy
1 Lvl40 Engy
1 Lvl 40 Rep

Othet than that
1 Lvl 73 BO on Kita. Can drive ISE
1 SS1 crew, better not to mention.

I think:
Continue AA + ASW in Mogami, same in Myoko (in GB), AA + ASW, grind
Then play as BB. Stay at FUSO till Yamato

Questions:
Am I doing right?
Do I lack Support (obviously but what should I do?)
Will PCL, PCA do me favour? Extra support slots ok, anything else?
Think to buy premium. I think it will fasten the process, and I will gain vets easier.

Am I on the correct track? What else can you advice.

Thank you.

(E)BVE ASAP. gets you best result in the earlier lvls, more accuracy, more attack, more xp, faster lvling.

Boost your crew as soon as you can. Maybe play CV this week (if you have a CV) and hope for a premium sailor drop. That will def help in your attack = more xp. And boost is permanent, whereas premium subscription only helps you for a month at a time. I would wait for an event where they give out prem subscriptions, and during that time, vet your sailors.

4 Engineers is about all you need, so if you keep your lvl 40 onboard till he catches up that should be fine.

You will need to lvl or buy more reps to make it 4/4 (I assume you're doing 4/4, it's nice and balanced).

you might want to find a way to lvl your gunners above you BO. Maybe AA in Kita with them until they are 3/4 lvls higher than the Mogami BO.

Other than that, your IJN crew is nowhere near as much of a mess as mine and I'm coping OK, but I didn't like the Fuso so I bought a B65 Project. I find the extra crew slot, extra DP and longer ranged/more accurate guns are worth it but that's just me. If you like rushing and you're good at it stick with the Fuso.

Fastest to get your kita BO to Yammy since only a few dozen lvls.

Suggest using your 43 BO as CV to train your new supports.

Invest in few FP since you will also be able to use them on ISE. After CV event prices will drop. If you have money to buy them now, the GB CV skill level is below average, means better results. (then BVE of course)

Stick to MigamiCV or oyodo to hop into 8CV GB rooms easier. Camp north border and local whore incoming border hump bombers. +credits and exp, and less boring than AA.

Train all engineers (even tho you need reps). They sell for higher and profit when you switch them out for reps or you can even find 2 reps for the price of 1 eng.

Rotate your sailors on your CV hybrid even tho they will fall behind your fighters.

when your gunners, and supports catch up to your kita crew, use your crazy ISE CV for what it's worth. Fun grind too.

Sell your fighters for more profit and buy any extra Yammy supports (or even SY support). Or buy more pilots since you already have half a CV.

Sounds like you have access to the item store. Prem is nice but boosts will help you in the long run.

First off, for Yamato you need 7 supports. 4 engineers sounds ok. The other 3 should be a scout and 2 repairers.

Secondly, you probably wont stay in Yamato once you reach SY. So you'll want 8 supports there (e.g. 4 engineers + 3 repairers + scout). So when getting your missing Yamato supports up on paar with the rest of your crew keep that in mind. It will prevent you from being mad at yourself later.

Third, if your Kita BO already can drive Ise I'd suggest to go Ise with the other one two. There is no point in wasting the credits for both those BBs.

Premium ships probably aren't worth it. PCA and PCL dont really help you doing anything better than normal ships. And PBB is only worthwhile if you have decent AA gunners. But alas, your AA gunners will only get decent when you're about to get the Yamato anyways.

So what should you do? Get the missing sailors. Even up your crew's levels. That means level the lowest sailors until they are all the same level. Don't worry about the gunenrs getting ahead in the process. That will be very useful every time you unlock new guns. And then you need a lot of stamina to not give up the long grind.

;-)

My journey towards the Yamato continues.

I'm now lvl 74 BO wise. Got premium and B65 (Just for AA), converted my arm sailors to DP gunners at lvl 62. Especially the expert gain is crazy. They already started to reload faster. I got some 4K, 6K plane kill games (and I'm not only AA ing). It's leveling fast and fun at the same time. I can even snipe circling enemy planes in a dogfight without harming our planes. It'is crazy.

So this weekend I'll possibly be in a Nagato.

So my point is I don't know how much difference would it make to convert my Arm sailors at lvl 80+, we'll see.

You'll definitely need a scout with that crew. A extra rep or 2 wouldn't hurt if you want to go for SY/amagi later.

During my grind to the Amagi, I enjoyed the Nagato equally to the Fuso even after I got the 16" Ds.

If you're lacking on experts, then use the B65 and continue to AA until the XP gain for you sailors is too low due to the sailor level-ship level gap.

Don't worry about the arm sailors if you've already converted them, lv 60ish is fine if you plan to get them to a high level later on.

And do get premium if you can, it'll greatly help with the grind.

"Will PCL, PCA do me favour?"
Japanese PCLs can carry a >>boatload<< of armour. Try using it with 16+" of belt armour in blitz. It's good for trolling and sometimes you can bounce Myoko salvoes. :P
However, there are only 3 slots on the actual ship, just as with other PCLs...2 main gunners and the BO. Other sailors can only go in the support slots. Also PCLs don't need a BO class as the operator. I had other sailors on there sometimes because my BO is somewhere else (probably drinking sakke :P).

IJN armour sucks.
IJN has paper armour/ships
