It was decided in the old website that signatures weren't going to be allowed because some people put too much information in there and prevents an easy reading of the forum.

When this new website was going to come out, there was a firm decision to keep that policy and almost all players agreed it made things easier and more comfortable.

I don't see this policy changing any time soon.

you mean ... " you want bragging rights and e-peen potential " ... ability to show off your stats ...

not a good idea here ... as stated by the mod in the post above this one ..
the idea may be fine for ONE post .. but tacked on the bottom of EVERY post = its too much

because too many people are unable to restrain themselves and keep them short and simple
and all too many people think an appropriate sized sig is anything up to SCREENSAVER sized

I wouldn't mind having some stats on the left of the post (under the avatar) like ingame level and number of games/posts.

Edit:- And have fleet info and server info too

Sure, that would work. We used to have fleet information before.
But I wouldn't recommend signatures.
